Would you recommend taping the pictures to some backing card or putting them all together in a zip-lock; we're also thinking of putting dates and locations on the backs of the pictures... do you think it's needed?

I wasn't really sure myself. I ended up printing them out on a color printer, two to a page, with the date and caption immediately below. I'm thinking that either of the ways you mentioned would work fine.

Loto told me about this. either front loading for the I-130 or back loading at the Interview with regards to the evidence of bonafide marriage. all i sent was our marriage cert and birth cert for our daughter. everything else will be brought to the interview.

Since its not needed we are going to send overkill documents.. :) Better more than less.. By the time the interview comes we will have the same people who wrote the letters to actually sign them and mail them to us. We are just going to label the pictures and send them in a bag, unless we print them as you did George. Either way the packet will be done today. :) :/

I have read that the USCIS does not always send all supplied material to the NVC, but NVC does send all material to the consulate. I sent a minimum of photos and no affidavits to USCIS with the 130, no problem. I reprinted the few photos I sent with 130, along with several more to send to NVC with the DS230. I printed photos on 8 x 11, 2 to 6 photos on a page with typed information, name, date, location, for each. I sent 12 affidavits with the DS230 also, some notaried, some not.

April 2008 Met online ..................... March 2010.. 3 week visit......... 19 Nov...Sent DS230 & I-864

I recommend against loose items not printed on full sheets of paper. No need for photo paper. Plain paper or color copies of photos will do nicely. Even the passport photos should go in bags stapled to full sheets of paper.

If they don't selectively discard a lot of it, your spouse will be carrying it all back with them in their carry-on luggage. If you're not aware, the visa holder transports the their own file back to the USA and it MUST be in their carry-on luggage because they present it to the CBP officer BEFORE they see their checked luggage.

We will be getting about 5 of those 13 affidavits signed today before we send them off, as for the pictures we are going to send some from each visit and the wedding.

Still not sure about the Skype logs and letters/emails though..

Thanks to both of you for the responses. I do have the same instructions as George, if they are going to make a big deal out of them not being signed then I will have to correct it. As for now all that is done and now on to the pictures we are going to include. Any idea on how much is too much :)

Can't really tell on how much is too much but we definitely sent a bunch and it worked.

As for the affidavits that you mentioned above...ours were all signed (of course by the third party) and notarized.

Good luck!

You can go ahead and include some of your Skype logs, letters and emails to prove of your ongoing relationship as everybody else did.

Well I am hoping we dont need to have them signed. We were thinking we can send them since we want to send them asap, and in the meantime before his interview have them mail us another copy of their letter with their signatures. Which will kill two birds with one stone.. The first being letters addressed to us both and the second the affidavits being signed. I just dont want to get my packet sent back, but I am the type that worries about the anyway..lol..

Another question.. Does anyone know why we need to send a copy of the back of my birth certificate?

Thanks,

Rose

I sent in ten affidavits of our relationship with their copy of their offical government ID because it would of been almost ommpossible to get my husband's family to go somewhere to get it certified. Most of his family live in a remote village where such travel maybe a hardship on them. I got no RFE for it to be notorized. I would try to send in a copy of their governmental ID's with the respective affidavit of relationship.

Guys

My photos were 4x6 printed from my Memory Stick at a Photo Lab, I printed descriptions on Sticky Labels with with my Printer and placed the Labels on the back of each Photo. The Photos were all placed in a Zip Lock Bag... Each Photo had My Name and the Beneficiary's name.

Although Photos are Secondary Evidence, they go a long way towards making your case, and would never send any petition in without photos..

Does anyone know how many original signatures we need for the affidavits.. Is it ok to have them make 3 copies of the same one and then they sign their name on each?

Your question baffles me. One signature per affidavit would be sufficient. Please clarify your question.

As in have the 3rd party make 3 copies of their letter and after it is printed to sign all 3 so we have their original copy on each.

"Two Much" should be the title of this thread as it definitely is the theme. Why would you need three originals of anything? You're making this stuff up out of thin air.
