My gc expires in Feb, but I was wondering what would happen if we did not hear anything and the GC expired. When I submit my evidence of removal of conditions, do we get any sort of form or notice or stamp so that we can travel? If I leave the USA before I get notice and then my GC expires am I able to enter the US again?

Thnks

After you submit your ROC, you will get a notice of action (NOA) telling you that they have received your package. This will also extend the validity of your green card by a year. If you travel after the expiration date on your card, you would need to use the card WITH the NOA/extension letter. I have not done this yet (my husband's green card expires at the end of January) but I've seem posts from people who have done this with no problems.

If you leave the USA without your notice and your green card expires while out of the country you will be denied entry back into the US. If your green card has expired you need a copy of your NOA1 (notice) in order to be allowed back in the country.
