Hi, fiance mailed our I-129F last sun, Nov. 28 thru UPS. Upon checking with the website, it showed that the package was collected Nov. 29, and reached Lewisville on Nov. 30. Im worried since fiance has not received any email or text confirmation, when in fact the G-1145 is included in the package. However, he failed to ask for a return receipt, and he enclosed a personal cheque.

Is there a reason for me to be worried yet? Or could it be that even USCIS electronic notifications can be delayed too? I understand that the Dallas lockbox handles all I-129F, does this mean then that Lewisville perhaps forwarded our package to Dalls perhaps, and we should wait for the notification from Dallas instead?

It has barely even gotten there! No need to be worried yet. Just wait and see if the cheque is cashed. The notification can take up to 10 days. (As I've heard...)

lol kiwibird! yes we just started with the process, but as i look at the other members' time lines, worries pile over one another. i really thought that he will get an email or text as soon as the package is received, which is why we included the G-1145 form, before he can expect for the NOA1.

Thanks for the assurance :)

You will start to learn that USCIS and their website case status and their notifications SUCK. They are quite often wrong or arent updated or your getting backwards updates.

Just relax, most of the process is generally delayed notices.

since you send your application to USCIS have to wait like 7 days to receive the NOA1 is a receipt that USCIS sends you by mail to your home (USCIS sends NOA1 to the petitioner)

thank you inky and feg for the words of wisdom. If we are just to expect the NOA1 sometime in the next few days (soon, i hope), does this mean that the G-1145 from have no bearing at all? I thought that the particular form was to send notifications thru email or text. What worries me about not getting any notification, electronic or otherwise, is that fiance sent the package without asking for a return receipt with the enclosed personal cheque.

thanks

You're welcome!

Review your bank account, if they (USCIS) cashed the check you don't have to worry about the reception of your application, NOA1 must arrive the next week! My fiance sent the application on July 22nd and he recived NOA1 in his home mail 7 days after!

I hope you guys have a bit of patience though, especially when dealing with USCIS. The "possibly 5 months, but maybe less, though not likely" wait is IMPOSSIBLE. It's unbearable. That's why I'm here... cause I'm so bored and I just sit around all day, waiting for my NOA2. :(

5 working days is normal for electronic notification. with the holidays and volume of packages it will be more like 10 days. I would expect at best 7-10 days before email or text notification.

Thank you again Feg, i will surely ask my man to check his bank account. He needs things to have things itemized always, due to pressure of his work. May you have a smooth journey!

thank you for the assurance. We would have posted our package to Dallas lockbox ourselves if military mailing system was more reliable  keeping my fingers for all of us here!

Indeed, patience is the key here KiwiBird! Fiance and i have waited for 8 plus years for the day that we can spend the rest of our life time, so a few more months shouldn't be too difficult. On the other hand, the knowledge that everything is so close after the long wait makes me more nervous...hormones, i suppose. biological clock is tick-tocking! LOL

is December a peak season for I-129f Filers? it may be, plus people might have waited for the reduced fees. thanks for the encouragement, and i wish you a blessed journey.

your good, don't worry. I did not get any electronic notification, but I received my NOA1 in the mail. I have seen people who get no notice or update online and receive their NOA2 in the mail. Good Luck!

thank you LADUQUE, i'll try to keep my enthusiasm and worries at bay. good luck to you too!

I never received any electronic notification despite the fact that I enclosed the G-1145 form. But check (also personal) cashed within 3 days after receipt. I don't that system works very well and others have also said the same: it varies a lot.

its a relief to know that someone was in the same boat as i am in now, altho of course in my case, it is still a tad early. UPS website reflects that the package was received at Lewisville, Texas on Nov. 30. I am not exactly sure, so anyone can correct me on this, but our package may have been to redirected to Dallas lockbox. Just the same, I'll ask fiance to check his bank statement. Thank you for sharing your experience, and may you have a smooth sailing journey!

You should be fine. Worry not so much about the electronic notification and look forward to the physical NOA1 in the mail. Happy filing.
