Thanks Safroot and Sarhan for the well wishes. I was really surprised to get the interview letter because I never received an email update from USCIS. Looks like the interview letters are starting to flow in so it's time to start studying.

I’m glad that I got my interview letter and my interviewscheduled for 02/15/2011, but my 5-year anniversary is 03/03/2011. I hope that won’t delay the Oath.

I gotta start studying NOW, I can’t believe I have only 2weeks until my interview. Good luck to all of you guys and I hope you get yourinterview letters soon. Keep me in your prayers. At least it's something tobrighten my day after following the events happening in Egypt right now,Alhamdolilla

Today I received an email update stating that our cases have been transfered to a local office. Very impressive considering the fact that we only did our fingerprints just 5 days ago! Interview letter should be on the way :thumbs:

What happens if the interview date was before the five year anniversary of becoming permanent residents? Would we have to come back to USCIS or do they approve our cases by mail?

Congratulations Sarhan, you will get your interview letter soon god willing. you will be in the same boat as me and from reading other threads and experiences, what happens is that at the end of the interview if you pass the IO will tell you that your case is recommended for approval and they won't approve it until your anniversary day and then from there you will get your Oath letter. so yea good luck

What ive read is, they will slot you in for your oath soon after your 5yr / 3yr anniversary ..

Now forget about that for now and get ya homework done....hence civics :bonk:

Hi Guys,

Quick update done the whole finger prints in the Bronx's at the damn crack of dawn today all went without a hitch other than the getting up at 3am to leave at 4am thing LOL.

Didn't think that was worth an update, did you? neither did I .......Until, I got home and checked the mail and found the yellow letter saying bring your driving licence etc when we give you an interview....

QUESTION'S QUESTION'S LOL......I am having my name changed back to my maiden name ( hubby will change his after this is over so we have the same name as my kids) However, my son will be 18 second week in August this year, we are in the Mid Hudson Valley NY....what is our chances of getting the Oath ceramony done in time to give my son automatic Citizenship?

Darklady, from the looks of it, it's only taking most people 3-4 months from the time they've applied until oath. I'd say that unless something goes horribly wrong, you will have a very good chance of getting in before his 18th birthday.

We received our interview letters today. I was very impressed that they scheduled me and my wife for one interview at the same time. I wonder how they will ask us questions together. Any experience there?

The other nice thing is that our interview is scheduled exactly on our 5 year anniversary B-) I guess my planning is flawless :devil: Just kidding! God willing everything will go ok. We feel blessed!

Can someone please update me? Interview letter received 2/5/2011. Interview Date 3/8/2011.

By they way, doing the walk in fingerprints doesn't seem to speed things that much. Comein and I have almost identical timelines. He did his walk in 2 weeks ahead of me and his interview is only 6 days earlier than ours. Just an observation.

We received our interview letters today. I was very impressed that they scheduled me and my wife for one interview at the same time. I wonder how they will ask us questions together. Any experience there?

The other nice thing is that our interview is scheduled exactly on our 5 year anniversary B-) I guess my planning is flawless :devil: Just kidding! God willing everything will go ok. We feel blessed!

Can someone please update me? Interview letter received 2/5/2011. Interview Date 3/8/2011.

By they way, doing the walk in fingerprints doesn't seem to speed things that much. Comein and I have almost identical timelines. He did his walk in 2 weeks ahead of me and his interview is only 6 days earlier than ours. Just an observation.
