Form DS-230

Hello everyone,

Can I fill out the DS-230 forms for my fiancee? On two of the pages, it questions whether the applicant was assisted in completing the forms, and if so, to include that person's name and address. Is there a problem if I complete the forms and send them to my fiancee to sign? Or is it better for my fiancee to complete the form?

Secondly, my fiancee is trying to obtain the police certificate, but she and I were both alarmed when we learned that it might take a month or two. Will we have to wait this long to return the DS-230 forms to the embassy?

Thanks.

I suppose you can fill it out for her. That should not cause a problem as long as she understands what has been filled out (I did my fiance's and then wife's G325as and I485 but she did her own DS230 etc.) One month is not bad - you have 6 months to do the packet 3 (DS 230 etc.) Good Luck

So we have six months to return the DS-230?...And the I-129f approval remains effective this long? I am a little relieved knowing that we do not have to rush, although I certainly want to get this done fast! Thanks for your response.
