Lacking info for USCIS FORM I-130

Hi all,

I just want to have an idea about our situation. USCIS already accepted our form I-130 and our status now is on initial review. My problem is on the I-130 form #17 my Husband didn't wrote down the name of my Son. I have a Son out of wedlock before and my concern now is will it affect our case? My husband didn't file for a petition for my Son because my family don't want me to take my son to US for now because it will be hard for me to adjust in a new place, but maybe if I'll get my visa and I'm already used to everything in US we will then take my Son to US too. Anyone out there who have an idea? My main problem for now is will this affect our case.

it doesn't matter if your husband didn't file for a petition for your son (because this can be done whenever) yet but it's important that you correct the information that you have a son so that when you are both ready to petition him, you will not have to possibly prove so much that it was just a simple mistake that you did not intentionally omitted his name in the form for your petition.

you should call uscis and correct this information with them. and then when interview time comes, it's best to make sure that this info has been corrected in your uscis records so that your papers are accurate from then on.
