Hello VJ!

I just noticed they finally updated the I-864 Affidavit of Support from on the USCIS web site: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864.pdf

Remember the version that was up expired on 10/31/10, so they just posted a new one.

Anyone notice any changes on the form itself from the prior version? I looked briefly but did not see anything that stood out.

Also, don't freak out, the prior version 10/18/07 is still accepted.

I have already filled the last edition and provided to NVC and now it is in the Consulate.

Since prior edition is valid, I am not going to send new one to my wife, because only 5 days left for her interview.

But for new people, we all suggest to use the latest edition!

Agreed. The prior version is acceptable, so it's really ok, no need to re-do.

Let us know if you spot any changes. I haven't sat down to extensively take a look but I'll report back if I see any changes.

Differences between actual forms:

1. New one has a barcode on the first page, old one doesn't

2. New one doesn't have a typing box at the persons signature on page 8

Differences between instructions:

1. The old form the instructions were together with the form, now they're separated

2. The new one deletes "blue ink" from a choice of ink to complete the form

3. The address for reporting suggestions for changes to the form has changed from: "US Citizenship & Immigration Services, Regulatory Management division, Attn: OMB No 1615-0075, 111 Massachusetts Avenue N.W, Washington, D.C, 20529" - to - "US Citizenship & Immigration Services, Regulatory Products Division, Office of the Executive Secretariat, 20 Massachusetts Avenue N.W, Washington, D.C, 20529-2020. OMB No 1615-0075"

Aside from that everything else looks identical.
