Second Interview at London Embassy

My husband had his interview on November 18th at the London Embassy. He was able to do his interview, but the CO could not give an approval or denial, because the medical was still not there. My husband did his medical on November 12th. He was told once the medical came, they would let him know via email or post if he was denied or approved. Today, he received a letter from them stating they want a second interview with him on December 8th. Does anyone out there know anything about why a second interview would be needed? Thanks

Also, in the letter, it said for him to bring a photo ID; such as, a passport or driver's licence. They did not say he had to bring a passport. Any ideas out there?

That seems very odd, I have never heard of a second interview from London. Hmm.....is your husband British or is he just interviewing at London because he lives in the UK

He is British. Don't understand why they would ask for a second interview. As if this waiting game is not hard enough.... now trying to figure out why a second interview is torture.

Could there be anything from the medical? Ie drug use (through tests or that he admitted), previous suicide attempts, comunicable diseases etc?

The bringing ID is probably a standard blurb, as he'll need ID to get into the embassy- did they keep his passport after the first interview?

NO... he did not leave his passport at the last interview.

Ive got a hunch that - as they couldnt give a definite approval because wellingtonboots medical report / results - whatever the correct terms are , hadnt arrived, this will be I THINK - kind of a whole new interview - but more catching up with the medical reports, if that makes sense. I would say with the reports that the embassy will get - he SHOULD be given an approval.

Yes, taking the passport down is standard for ID to get in, BUT I really dont think they would get him to go down AGAIN, just for a denial. They will be aware of his immigration history - so if for any reason he was inadmissable - I would say they'd have denied him on the spot. As they were just waiting for medical reports to come back - once they show clear - i think he will get the all clear and the CR1

But lots of people don't have their medical things all done by the time of the interview, they aren't asked to come down again, the just send their passport down later and it is sent back with the visa via courier, no need for a new interview.

I was told at the medical in Knightbridge - and also on the Embassy line, that medicals are becoming compulsory now prior to the interview. How set in stone this has become I am not sure.

However, wellingtonboot had his medical on the same day as me, virtually at the same time, and this was a matter of days before his initial interview at the embassy.

I was also told at the medical that they can take 4 or 5 days for the results to arrive at the Embassy. His results had not arrived with the CO upon him attending the interview.

*I was also sent my interview appointment letter and it informed me that I would have needed to complete my medical prior to the interview at the Consulate.

I can be corrected, but I believe at the Immigrant Visa interview, you have to sign form(s) in front of the CO, Swear an Oath upon approval (or even denial, not sure), obviously you cant do this in front of a CO if you are sending documents via courier.

Id say all they had to go on, were the civil documents etc, the CO would only have had any previous immigration history info, and the current situation minus the medical results. Its not my place to discuss other members personal circumstances but Id imagine if any medical issue has arisen in the past, regardless of how big or small then it may well need to be discussed with the individual whilst under oath.

No, Knightsbridge will not send the medical until they have everything they need to make their recommendation. The embassy did not have his medical.

We just got our case completed and I was wondering if my husband can get his medical done now before receiving the interview date/time email?? Can we get this out of the way beforehand? And if so can someone provide a place in London that is approved to do this? Thanks!

medical has to be complete before interview.

knightsbridge doctors are the only uscis approved, -at bentnick mansions.
