OMG. Agreed 110% I brought back chinsu but can't find any here and the ####### we bought last week had me gaggin. I can pour chinsu on anything. But bad nuoc mam can't be in the same room with me.

Our Family uses the nuoc mam with 3 crabs on it. We find it to be the best one and goes good on anything.

On the right. It's the same brand Phuong buys.

I don't particularly care for seafood, and I can't really warm up to something whose primary ingredient is "anchovy extract". How the heck to you 'extract' an anchovy?

I saw something on TV that walked one through the process.. maybe it was bizarre foods or soemthing like that but it was informative.. and I still use it after seeing the way it is made...:bonk: Sits out in the sun in salty watter for a year in some cases and then they dump the containers into pools to combine different flavors like making wine and then it is siphoned off into bottles using small rubber tubing with a sock on the end to filter solids... The QC dept was the guy who decided what vats were dumped together and when... I saw no machinery in the process...

Brand on the right is the same one Linh buys whether at the local big grocery store or at one of the Viet markets in Dorchester.

i thought it was gonna be something like this.

I dunno what happened to the pic I linked to.

Anyway, it was a photoshopped pic I found on the internet of a old fashioned wringer washing machine, with a steady column of salmon going through the wringer and being squeezed flat, and a torrent of fluid gushing from either side. :dead:

I saw that the other day. Did you notice if they have hot coffee there? I love Vietnamese style coffee, but I hate waiting for it to drip. Most of the time the coffee is cold before it's finished.

The easiest way to post a pic is to

1.) Upload it on a photo site, like Picasa.

2.) Right click on the photo and hit copy image location.

3.) On the VJ reply screen click Insert image.

4.) Paste the image url into the box and post.
