For K3 are vaccinations needed ?

For K3 will my hubby have to get vaccinations or he will have to provide just a medical report ? M confused.....

Don't know about your Embassy, but we're assuming my husband in Canada will get whatever shots he may need when he goes for his medical.

In Canada, he may not even need any vaccinations other than probably T&D (tetanus/diptheria) because 99.9% of Canadians get all vaccinations during school years, and they are not needed again later in life.

He can go to his family doctor (or even a walk-in) and have them draw blood for titres to check for immunities. If he's been vaccinated before, or had chicken pox, the titre results will show immunity and he will not need any vaccinations. The titre results are sufficient for the panel physician and for the USCIS requirements. He can also have the T&D shot at his regular doctor for free (in most areas), the panel physician will charge extra for this.

To have unneccesary vaccinations done is not only a possible health risk, but also costly. The panel physician charges for each one.

Other countries have different requirements for vaccinations, so check the consulate and the approved panel physician website.

Thanks, Reba. My husband was born in the Azores Islands and we've had his vaccination records from there translated from Portuguese to English. He came to Canada when he was 6 years old and there's no further record of shots. I'm hoping the panel physician in Toronto can see what he's had and what he needs, if anything.

Even if he has no other record he would still have had to had shots in order to be eligible for school. Seriously look into having a family doctor run titres rather than have the panel physician give him more vaccinations. It'll be a lot cheaper and no health risk. I think the pp charges something like $50 per shot. Titres with an Ontario doctor should be free.
