I-864 Gotcha?

I pulled this from a list of "Potential 'gotchas' on form I-864":

On the top right hand corner of each page the petitioner must write (not type) their full name, social security number, and the words "Form I-864".

On the James' Shortcut guide, there's this little note:

"Make sure to write your case number in the upper right-hand corner of EVERY page including I-864."

The NVC says only this:

Before mailing the I-864 to the NVC:

1. Ensure that:

- All pages are in the correct order and stapled together

- Each page is filled-out completely

- The form is signed

Don't worry on all those things. Just write NVC Case# on the top right corner of every page except the barcode coversheet.

This is NVC's official suggestion.

Putting beneficiary's name and A# or case number on each page is just in case the file gets spilled and needs to be put back together again. If it saves an RFE for a lost document or page it's worth the time.

FWIW: I printed labels (standard address labels) with my wife's name and A#, 3 to a label. Cut the labels in 3rds and stuck one to each page submitted. So far through AOS, ROC, and now Naturalization (pending) there hasn't been a problem.

I too did the same.

Wrote NVC Case# on AOS package, but didn't write anything on the IV package because it had originals.

As you did, I also stapled individual items together and used a good binder clip.

First GC process was an ease. Second one is going to be finished soon.
