Hey Bud. Congrats are in order. In our case, my wife received a call from the Embassy to set up the appointment within a week. But you need to contact the Embassy by e-mail if possible and push them to check that you case has arrived to them.

cheers man, ive emailed the embassy and called them. then this afternoon i got receipt of the email with the warning attached that if they get spammed with requests from an email address they reserve the right to delete it. So, I'll tread carefully for this stage. they have my details, I have my medical Friday, they have the day off tomorrow, so Im not expecting to find out much until early next week!

According to Embassy recrods, the Immigrant Visa Unit has not yet received your file from the National Visa Center. On receipt of your file, you will be sent instructions on how to proceed with your application.

Richi, It is a matter of few day for them to enter into their system, review it and schedule the interview.

Thanks Loto, I kind of thought that, but then i questioned to myself, what info - they only have a few details from the uscis surely. i guess they must create files as they go along though.

The good thing is, I can respond to that email as it says i am permitted to, which may save a 'loto' money on phone calls to the embassy

I just called the embassy, they said I have to send (fax or by e-mail) the DS 230 and the DS 2100 (colombian doc which states I know the case is in the embassy in order to be scheduled an appointment) so I will do that asap.

it is in the USEM website, I have to print it and fax it, it seems so easy, give it a try in the UK USEM website, if you need the same!!

I think as you didnt get through NVC you should have getting all ready, every embassy proceed different so I cannot tell you how it is gonna be for you, for example you are taking the medicals now, but I cant until I get my interview date for sure. the peson who nawered to me told me to take all the docs i didnt send to NVC with me the day of the interview including AOS and IV package (copies) because I have to send the Ds 230 by fax. I advise you ahev all ready just in case. or check your package according to the day the case left NVC, there is a website you can track it, someone post it and it was so useful:

if you hear the AVR saying that your case has been forwarded to the emnassy in (they tell you the date)

so you will track it with the day before: example: EXP 03 NOV 2010A, make sure you change the dates in the arrows, since october 31 lets say, to actual date, good luck.

you check when your case got to the USEM. that was useful for me, it was the only colombian case which left the NVC that day.

my wife was told this morning that the london embassy approved the expedite request from the nvc for ourselves.

she asked if we have our iin yet and was told we wont be given one by the nvc in the usa as it'll be dealt with at the embassy.

so, the case was transferred from the uscis to the nvc and almost immediately transferred to london - without any document processing from the nvc in the us.

any ideas what will happen now - will i be contacted or my wife. should i call the us embassy in london for advice on what to do next? if anyone has advice thatd be awesome.

#does this mean ive beaten loto's record of going through the nvc - unofficially yes. officially NO - as no documentation has been compkete there yet. lol

Ive got it thanks for the heads up, I looked initially for it, but couldnt find it, as its really the NVC that sends the ds2001 out, but now I have it. The only worry I have now is if my documents will arrive with my wife tomorrow - otherwise I'll have to get my police cert and birth cert again. thats nice to spend 150 bucks on two forms! again. So we'll see, I can get them in just over a week, so no panic yet, and my medical is set for tomorrow, and Im all set for that too.

Finally now - my papers have arrived with my wife - and now she just has to send her 864 and all that jazz to me with my documents again. i'll be on the train of the embassy on monday morning!

you only have to email the expedite request with the proof mate, you should be all set then.

no word yet, but i was in london all day with a near flat cell phone, so i didnt mind too much. the medical documents from my medical today will be at the embassy next week, i should have all my docs mid-end of next week, so i'll be hunting info from monday, and interview in 2 weeks would be great. gives me time to get everything and prepare a waiver just in case.
