hi Guys,

I am new to VJ but started reading this thread last week. Me too is frustrated about whats going on with my case but hopefully we'll all be approved and be with our love ones. Though most of you are for your spouses mine is for my mother.

NOA1 - Jun 30, 2010

Transfer date - Nov 01, 2010

Touched - Nov 29, 2010

SR opened - Jan 13, 2011

email about SR- Jan 20, 2011 - telling me about addt'l review and wait within 6months

Goodluck to all of us.

I think "held for additional review" is government speak for "we're under-staffed and disorganized."

I-130 NOA1: July 2nd, 2010

I-130 NOA2: February 10th

Sent to NVC: February 11th

I just love how the CS rep is looking at their computer screen at the date while we have the NOA1 hard copy in our hands while they argue with us about the dates. Well Mr. CS Rep, who was it that sent the NOA1 hardcopy to me first place. I guess one or the other is true, either way USCIS is wrong! Somebody at USCIS has been reading 1984. A conversation after which we come away questioning our own sanity. You can't effectively fight illogical arguments with logic can you?

LOL i actually was a stubborn goat so bad on one of my calls when they were giving me their 'adjusted' date that i confused her into forgetting what date she had given

i truly believe if you give in and agree to any of the dates they lie about they change that date in their system and it then becomes 'fact' in their world so i NEVER NEVER NEVER allow them to slip a date past me, i stop them and correct them each and every time they lie about a date (just in case the calls are recorded and they decide at some later date to pull those recorded calls out and say look on such and such date you agreed that this was the proper date.... hey, call me paranoid but i've been screwed enough, so no thanks to any more! and yes, i have read 1984, it should not be banned, it should be mandatory reading for every student before they go out into the world to be routinely screwed)

Take the whole 1-800 number call center thing they call Customer Service and just shut it down. We would really be better off in the dark, completely without contact to USCIS. (Except for Officer Garza).

officer garza... a figmentation of someone's imagination... like whole sections of "scotts" or "dougs" in companies i bet "officer garza" is a stage of the processing

YES I take note of everything! It just doesnt seem to be of any help... it doesnt change anything they decide to do anyways.

it will help. if you ever need it, you have it. it can be a lifesaver.

If I called that 800 number and somebody picked up and all I heard was like a car horn from the 1950s, glass breaking and maybe a goat in the background that would actually make more sense to me than 90% of what you people tell me of your experience with them.

best laugh i've hsd all day  Thanks!

I think "held for additional review" is government speak for "we're under-staffed and disorganized."

"under-staffed" - nah

"disorganized" - probably

unmotivated - very likely

additional review - we just havent gotten to you and we'' get there in our own sweet time unless someone climbs up our ####### and causes us irritation then we'll get rid of your petition off our desk.

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

Thought I'd add my 2 cents on this thread. They received the I-130 petition for my wife back in July 6th. In November I was a victim of the infamous California to Texas transfer. I called in December to see if they could expedite things since it was past the 5 month mark but they blew me off because we didnt have a medical excuse. I called again today and entered my receipt number and the recording said that I need to sit on my thumbs for 180 days after the November transfer before I should call back and then it ended the call. I called back again and didnt enter the receipt number so I could talk to someone and this time they acted like they might do something and gave me some service request number and told me to call back in 30 days if I didn't hear anything back from them.

On the USCIS web page it still shows that I'm in the initial review stage. Right now it's 199 days or 6 months and 16 days into this process. At this rate my wife might be in the states sometime in 2016.

Just wondering but did anyone else get 1 of those numbers when they called? Is this 16 char alphanumeric number something that I can track online?

That 16 char alphanumeric number is what you need in case you do not get a response to your service request which most of the time comprise of form letter stating that you need to wait anywhere between 1-12 months (depends on the mood of person replying) before you can contact them again to see what is going on :help: . In case they do not reply within 30 days then you are now eligible  to mail the service center with this number. and at that time they will tell you the same thing unless of course you get a reply from office Garza  .

Hello all,

Well, it's our anniversary today, and it would be great to get the Text message that we're approved from the additional review. I have figured it out, 1 year since we were married. 50 days together since we said I do.. 1 baby on the way. So we were pretty productive during those 50 days together. I'd love to be able to call my wife tonight and tell her, that we are approved. Of course I also figure that we might get approved by the time we no longer qualify for the CR-1 that we applied for, and are approved for the IR-1. Just with the way things have been moving, it's my real guess at this point. Of course TSC could give us a surprise anniversary present.. and give us that approval. (hint-hint).. But at least we've made it thru the first one, and after this first years fiasco.. I think we have a very long time together.. we'll laugh about this on our 50th anniversary.. LOL..

Hi all - I first felt bummed when I saw TSC had processed only 400 apps, but I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that CSC had processed over 19,000 in the same timeframe! Actually made me a little angry. Sure makes the 36,000 number seem doable within 2 months if TSC were working as quickly as CSC. So when you put it in perspective of what a smooth-functioning service center can acccomplish, those 36,000 apps don't seem like they should be so overwhelming, ya know? :) Let's keep the faith... they can do it... we have to be soon.

I agree, but the more I think about it, TSC were busy ACCEPTING our transferred files in November. They got them on Nov 4th, and then spent around 20 days getting them in the system. It's not surprising they didn't approve much. I'm hopeful things are moving now, but TSC still has a long way to go.
