Interview Experience

Just thought I would write about my interview experience from today ....

I arrived 20 minutes early but didn't get called in till about 15 minutes after my scheduled time. The IO was a older female, very stern and professional. I initially thought she had a face made of concrete but that was later found untrue towards the end where i did manage to see a tiny smile when i left. Anyways, she first went through my entire file from the beginning being very thorough! it was kind of like getting my green card all over again. I did did wonder how the heck she thought i managed to get my GC to begin with. This took some time as she was reading everything in the file. She later administered the tests, which i passed (of course). She then said congratulations "im recommending you for approval" she then stamped my N400 with a big red 'Approval" stamp. She didn't give me any piece of paper that others have received at the end of their interview. This didn't concern me as seeing the word APPROVED being stamped on my file was good enough she also printed out a piece of paper with my details that will be included on my certificate and i had to confirm it was all correct (spellings etc).. She didn't know when the next oath was. She said she doesn't deal with that and that i will get a letter in a few weeks. The whole interview was just over 30 mins long. Probably the longest interview out of my entire journey and also the most thorough. Still the oath and passport to get now... fight on!

I should also add that the IO never asked for my tax transcripts - maybe it was because i sent copies with my application. Never asked to see my passport either or any other documents.... Only thing asked for was my GC..... No surprise really as they had everything already from previous filings.... So all that time i spent getting everything together was pointless.

Thanks ....and yes they went through my GC file... guess they have to double check everything before granting citizenship. Now the wait for the oath letter...
