k1 visa pregnant benificiary question

I was 6.5 months pregnant at my K-1 interview. They did not require a dna test. What I did have though, was a letter from my doctor stating that I was pregnant and when I was due. The consulate here, did also say that if my interview was scheduled to close to my due date, that the interview date could possibly be moved up a few weeks, as it is a health issue for a pregnant woman to fly, once she is over 35 weeks.

Don't stress about this, many folks come on here and will give false info, or try and frighten you, because they feel you are using the pregnancy to get a visa, or think it will expedite things, ignore them. Being pregnant does not improve chances of a visa, and does not expedite it, but it does count as proof of a legitimate relationship.

Hope this helps

I've never heard of any concrete evidence that the bolded statement above is true at any consulate. I do know that it is a common fallacy in some high fraud countries, and consulates in those countries don't give it any consideration at all. Someone scamming a USC for a ticket to the US would happily get pregnant if they thought it would help convince a CO to give them a visa.

I wouldn't want anyone to get the false impression that getting pregnant should be on their "to do" list of things to prepare for the interview.

As my Fiancée is now 4 months pregnant, and we are still waiting for our NOA2, I have researched this quite a bit. You will need to provide a notarized letter that states that you are aware of her pregnancy, and intend to marry her when she arrives in the US She will need this at the interview. Also, make sure you call the airline you intend to travel, and double check their policy, it varies greatly. It would also be prudent to get a letter from her Doc that states her due date, and also that she is in good health, the airline may require this.

Congrats on your child, good luck.

I am also in this situation right now. My fiancee is 4 months pregnant. We filed the I-129F last March.

Now, I understand and consigned to the fact that there is a chance that she may not beat getting the Visa BEFORE she gives birth. I am already making plans to go there to file CRBA for our child to come here with my fiancee once she has given birth. I am wondering how long does that process may take? I was hoping to get this done in say 3 weeks? - BUT, by seeing some replies, this may take longer then? gosh! The visa is good for six months and I hope that all this can get wrap up before that!

Started to make my own topic but then saw this one and realized I wasn't the only one in this boat. We're MAYBE pregnant as well. I just visited my fiance less than a month ago. She just took one PT yesterday and it came back positive. I have no idea where to start our K1 was just started at the end of the month. She is currently the only one of us working and she is working on a work visa as a nurse. Once the hospital finds out she probably will get sent home to the Philippines. I told her she needs to take more tests to make sure she is or not. Since she is on a work visa can we get expedited? What do we need to do now? Besides the obvious pray I find a job soon. Do I need to inform anyone? Or just wait the process out? Please anyone help me we're both excited and scared at the same time. Thanks

Being on a work visa is not grounds for an expedite. Sorry, expedites are reserved for extreme or emmergent situations, or imminent military deployment to a combat zone, not for an expiring work visa and not for pregnancy

Sorry, congrats on your 'maybe' pregnancy

good luck

Kind of figured that. Do we need to inform someone if we are? Or do we just wait it out?

I think you are misinterpreting my post, so I will clarify my words for any other couple that will read this thread.

As I wrote in the sentence right before your choosen words to bold... a pregnancy does not expedite the visa or gaurentee a visa, but.... just as photos, letters, and e-mails count as evidence of a relationship so does expecting a child together.....this comes direct from an IO. If anyone would interpret my post as suggesting to put a pregnancy on their "to do" list, well they are either reading it too fast or being ignorant. I posted my first response to clarify to all the pregnant woman who are in true relationships and undergoing the visa process to know that there is a lot of BS on this site around pregnancies and not too listen to all the responses, as many will automatically assume that the are using a child as a means to the U.S.. Also, If someone was to use pregnancy to obtain the visa, they are in for a rough ride, as stated above it doesn't make getting a visa easier, it just helps to show a bit more evidence, they still need to show various types of evidence that the relationship is real and legit.
