U.S. Citizen filing for my Infant Child who was Born before my Naturalization

My son was born 3 weeks before I received my naturalization certifaicate and he is 5 months old now. I understand that he doesnt automatically qualify for citizenship. He is currently with my wife in Ghana. My wife's I-130 has been approved and we recently paid the IV Bill.

My question is, would he have to go through the same process my wife is going through? I am assuming she gets her visa in the next 6months by which time my son's application could still be with USCIS waiting approval. He will be about 1year then and she cant travel without him. What are my options. Can I just get him a visa for him to get to the U.S or is there something else that I can do. Thanks all.

Yes he would need the same visa. Get it going asap and then apply for an expedite on it so his application can "join" your wife's.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

05/17/2012 - Case Completed

Consulate

07/02/2012 - VFS visit in Cochin

07/04/2012 - Medical in Chennai

07/12/2012 - Interview in Mumbai - Success!

09/08/2012 - POE at JFK, NY

thanks for the info. What form do i need to apply for an expedite?
