What does touched mean?

Hi. I am a newbie here and am looking over everyone's timeline and keep seeing this "touched". What does that mean? who touched what?

This is 353rd time I am typing what is a touch, but you are hearing it first time. So no problem (Just kidding)

When you have Receipt#, you can create an account with USCIS website and register this Receipt#. There is a column "Last Updated Date" which will tell you when USCIS last updated your case. It's sweet name is "touch".

A touch doesn't mean your case is not looked at yet. It may be reviewing behind the scene, but they forgot to update the system.

For me, NOA2 came last month, but this site says "Initial Review" of my case :-) However, I had few touches before the approval.

Touched means it is an old memory whereas Touch means current joy :-)
