Is this going to be a problem. the spelling is slightly screwed on the translation of the marriage certificate of my wife father's first name.

and on ds. 230 we going to write the name. Its only "one" letter. Jamal is spelled Jumal? is that a problem? or we should redo the marriage translation over?

another problem thats gona create, is that my wife then, going to show the new translation, which would be different from the one that was originally sent with the petition i-130. is the embassy gona make an issue of that?

What do you guys suggest?

That is a tough one that is probably left to someone like LOTo to answer. I would say a correction is in order but with the correction have a certified letter from the translator stating that they made a mistake in the original translation. It may or may not do any good but at least you can show that you two were not trying to "break any rules or hide something." However, I know background checks are strict and sometimes "one letter" is significant in a person's name...just think it is more important that your two names are correct vs the parents' names. Good luck.

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

If you can get a new translation, get it with the correct name.

I-130 submitted translation and this new translation convey the same facts, then it is good to go.

yea im a bit confused about this one. if i were to put the "Correct" spelling of fathers first name on ds230, then im wondering, if i will need all new documents of translation, such as, birth cert & marriage cert with correct spelling also. that will be pain in the rear but not impossible. however, im concerned about how the embassy is going to react to that cause its all new forms. all of this just to correct one letter mistake out of the name. getting a certified letter from a translator also sounds like a good idea.
