I cannot believe that I am posting this. After all the hurdles I have an interview date!! I only just returned the checklist etc a couple of weeks ago...literally!! I checked the mail and it came yesterday. Sept 19th!! I had to share it. I really wasn't expecting anything for a couple of months.

I am packing now to leave shortly for a overnight stay in Buffalo and an early flight to Daves in the morning. Staying til Sept 4th and then back to Ontario.

I am so shocked!! I have soooo much to do when I get back to get ready. Yikes!

Will check in from Missouri.

Karen

Congratulations! This really gives me hope that I won't have to wait the long wait that Montreal seems to be.

I sent back my checklist ect back last week and was time budgeting for November...now reading your post, who knows! I might be just as lucky as you :)

Thank you for all the well wishes. We are excited!! Not to mention nervous.

Meliss to be honest I haven't given any thought to where we are staying yet. Anything you can share would be welcome for sure. I am in Missouri now til the 4th and then I have a ton to do to finish prepping for the interview when I get back to Ontario. I intially thought I may have to call Montreal to see about getting a new date. But I am going to see what I can finish up in prep for it and hopefully do it in Sept.

I need a titer tests done for myself. I still have to get the medicals as well. When I called the day before I returned my packet 3 info I was told 3-4 mos for an interview. I really thought like sometime in November or December so I knew I would have plenty of time to get things done. This puts a bit more of a squeeze on. But I think it can work. That would free us up to move in December over Christmas break in the schools for my children.

TRY booking your hotel through hotwire.com. That's what we did and we got a great room at the Hyatt for $89.00 a night. It is super close to the consulate to (two blocks, short ones) less than 5 mins. Best of Luck !!!!!!

Thought I would post this as a follow up to my original post. I emailed Montreal today. After much debate to inquire about getting another interview date. I am currently in Missouri until Sept 4th. My problem is that I still need to get the pics, criminal record search, medicals for myself and the girls, and titer tests for myself. Ack!!! So needless to say I am panicking now because the medical place in Toronto only does medicals two mornings a week. So I am going to call tomorrow to set an appointment for the week after I am back. Sheesh!

Anyways, after much thought I decided a later appointment date would allow me to gather all I still need (thought I had another 3 months!) The response I got was that if they rebook they would do so for three months away...but I had the option of attending the interview with all I had. I explained the medicals were my biggest concern. They replied saying I could interview and forward the missing medical information later.

Needless to say, I am opting to keep the appointment and try my hardest to get everything completed in the days following my return to Ontario.

I'll keep yas posted!
