In Kiev regarding the fee payment for the K-1, for you or your fiancée was it taken during the initial interview? Or did you or your fiancée have to fly back to Kiev a second time to pay the fee and receive the visa, once the notification of approval was sent?

I've heard that for some types of visas & at some embassies the visa recipient has to return more than once. But I was wondering about the typical first hand K-1 experience for Kiev.

Kiev you must pay first at bank then attend interview. Assuming it is approved the VISA will be sent to her.

You pay in advance. You used to pay at a ProCredit Bank but now I think you can pay at the bank or at the consulate, but it is definitely paid before the interview and is non-refundable.

K-1's are pretty simple compared to other types. You prepay, attend interview and wait for visa to be sent to fiance(ee) address in Ukraine. Most prepayments are the same day as the interview.

Of course, there is a lot more to do before you get to that great day.
