Hi,

Is it ok if we include Certificate of Registration of Marriage as part of I-130 application?

I see that we have one more (Memorandom of Marriage) certificate also.

Hence, I was confused, which one to include?

Maybe you should send photocopies of both, but not originals. You'll need to

submit them to NVC Later on.

Include the certificate of registration of marriage - that will suffice. you can also attach the memorandum, although I dont know what that is. i've only ever heard about the registration certs for Indian marriages (its the only thing that I sent in for my wife's I-130). i know that if you get a court marriage, then you get an actual certificate in India (?) of a court registrar marriage? anwyays, you're ok with the cert of registration of marriage. While I didnt do this (and perhaps should have, although I dont think it accounted for my long 5 month approval), consider also sending in the marriage invitation and pictures. It cant really hurt, esp if you are < 2 yrs married. if you're over 2 yrs, i dont think its that much of an issue, but cant hurt anyway. good luck

USCIS: 10-06-2009: I-130 rec'd by USCIS; 03-16-2010: I-130 APPROVAL (after 5+ friggin months of torture, agony and waiting!)
NVC:
04-29-2010: INTERVIEW ASSIGNED FOR JUNE 10TH IN CHENNAI CONSULATE, INDIA; 06-10-2010: INTERVIEW - VISA APPROVED!!!!!
06-18-2010: Entered US - NEW YORK CITY and 08-16-2010: GC received! (nearly 2 months after PoE) woo hoo!
AOS for permanent 10 yr green card:

04-02-2012: NOA of I-751 and 1 yr extension of temp green card

05-03-2012: Biometrics appointment

12-18-2012: 10 yr Green card approved; 12-22-2012: Green card rec'd

N-400 citizenship:

06-19-2013: N-400 mailed; 06-22-2013: N-400 rec'd at Dallas lockbox

10-3-2013: Interview date - APPROVED!

10-18-2013: NATURALIZED - We are done with USCIS!!!

There are so many ways to get married in India it is confusing.

I would say if you have a Certificate of Registration and a Memorandum of Marriage you should submit both of these items. Simply because you cannot determine which is the right one and also because both of them are related to the court documentation for your marriage in India.

CR-1 Visa Was Approved :-)

Entry Date to USA: 2/3/2011

12-10-2012 - Sent off I-751 packet visa USPS

I751 Was approved - 10 Year GC was granted

N-400 Progress

4/10/2014: Package Mailed
4/11/2014: Package Received
4/14/2014: Notice Date
x/x/2014: Biometrics appointment

There are so many ways to get married in India it is confusing.

I would say if you have a Certificate of Registration and a Memorandum of Marriage you should submit both of these items. Simply because you cannot determine which is the right one and also because both of them are related to the court documentation for your marriage in India.

:thumbs: In past the gov offices used to issue "The Memorandum of Marriage Certifcate" but now a days mostly at all places they issue "The Certificate of Registration of Marriage".Thus both are valid.So just send both of them,they will use whatever they like .... :dance:

IR-5 for Parents

02-28-14 -> I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox.
03-03-14 -> USCIS received. (Priority Date)
03-09-14 -> NOA1 received.
06-04-14 -> NOA2 received. Approved.
06-18-14 -> NVC Received case.
07-03-14 -> NVC Assigned Case#(Got Case# & IIN Over the Phone).
07-22-14 -> DS-261 Completed.
07-25-14 -> AOS fee Payment.
07-29-14 -> AOS fee shows PAID.
07-30-14 -> AOS Package Sent.
07-31-14 -> AOS Package delivered.
09-15-14 -> IV fee Payment.

09-17-14 -> IV fee Shows PAID.

09-18-14 -> IV Package Sent.
09-20-14 -> IV Package Delivered.

10-20-14 -> Case Complete.

10-28-14 -> Case Complete Email Received.
