Hello All,

I checked my email, received the case status,it is mentioned that, Your Case Status: Testing and Interview.

Did anyone receive this for IR1/CR1 visa petition after receiving NOA1 and waiting on NOA2.

Please let me know what I would be expecting for the Interview (as I am the Beneficiary) and what documents I need to carry with me.

Appreciate any response.

Thanks,

Tanvee

Thanks Loto for sending the Links.

Does this Testing and Interview means, approval process or my case is approved.

USCIS website is un-reliable. Call them to see the status tomorrow morning.

Mine is approved, but still shows "Initial Review".

Thanks Loto,

Sure, I was planning on giving them a call and will give them a call tommorow itself.

I sent them all the documents that are required that were mentioned in the helpful links that you sent me. I was expecting an approval letter and seeing the status of Testing and Interview, really disappointed me.

Appreciate all your helpful information.

Thanks,

Tanvee

Tanvee -

since there's 'that status' on the web portal -

and since the I-130 is NOT approved yet -

it MAY be that the Petitioner in the USA

is pegged for a local USCIS office interview OR local intake for Biometrics.

It's rare, sure, but it happens.

This is not about YOU, the beneficiary, it's about THE PETITIONER -

you won't be interviewed in yer country, because of this, but the PETITIONER MIGHT BE interviewed in USA.

The way to know, to be certain,

is for the PETITIONER to call into USCIS, get a Tier 2 Human,

and inquire - see http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1221837986181.shtm#5 for a description of Tier 1 vs Tier 2, and get a Tier 2 Human,

ask

--Will the Petitioner be interviewed at a local USCIS office, or is this a local intake for biometrics on the petitioner, or is this a data error in the portal?

-------

Don't waste time with a Tier 1 Sub-Human, the CSR, the first human that answers the phone.

---

Here's some more info on 'local interview' - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/275848-i-130-forwarded/

and

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/246843-case-status-testing-and-interview/

Have a longish read , yes?

Good Luck !

Hello All,

I received a I-797C in the postal mail. It stated that 'Preliminary processing of the my application or petition has been completed and it has been transferred to the USCIS office in the City, State. That office will notify when they schedule an interview on the application or petition. Any further inquiries should be made to that office.'

The City, State is the place I reside currently in USA and the letter didn't specify any information more than that.

When it says "application or petition has been completed". Does it mean that my case is approved?

Can someone please let me know if they received something as above and appreciate if you can provide any information that is helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Tanvee.

Now it is more clear. They want to interview the U.S petitioner at the local office before this I-130 petition approval.

Don't get panic! Sometimes they do it and it should be so easy.

Questions - Did your petitioner have any criminal offenses in the past - arrest, charges, conviction etc.? Any name check issues in the past such as Naturalization etc.?

Take your entire file. They might ask some basic questions about your relationship, about previous divorces if any etc.

Tanvee,

Then you don't have to worry about anything. It will be a casual chat about you, him and the relationship. If they found some wrong information in the application, they want to correct it as well. That's why I asked to take the entire file when you go there.

Important:- Take excessive evidences of your marital relationship. Everything that you can think of.

ya, caliguy77 had a recent one of these, also -

for his interview, specifically,

they wanted to see his recently issued USCitizen 'papers'.

but - it could be anything - the 'letters issued' never specify.

IF you studied the link I supplied (did you click/read the content?)

then you'll have a better idea of turn-around times and process.

If you didn't read it, let me know?
