Yes. What the F is going on here. 5 months? May 5th? That's SEVEN FN months! I am absolutely FN furious right now. Their website still states under 5 months!

As I pointed out earlier --the Congressman get the same push around like us . Many persons just get approved without their help , or just when thier time comes around . Besides the USCIS is telling the Congressman that the 5 mths is just an estimate time .Just hang in there .

i really hope your congressman can get something done. One of my Senators and a Congressman got responses after one week. I hope they get you some answers.

Lucky you  . Were they able to get a positive reply for you , or just the same old reply ???

I have decided to fly to Moldova and spend the rest of the wait with my baby. Wish me luck!

:D That's the way to do it. I bet being together will make the wait soooo much easier. But hopefully you'll be coming back soon; together

Good for you!

I really wish I could do the same but too many responsibilities these days. Last year, prior to engagement, I spent almost 1/4 of the year in Russia. The joys of doing contract work.

I have a general question... My SO was here on a J-1 visa when I met her. We wanted to spend all the time together that we could before she had to go back home. She ended up quitting her job six weeks prior to the expiration of her visa. Does this disqualify her from receving an approval on the K-1?

i really dont see how that could disqualify here since she did not overstay her visa and it was still valid during the time she remained in America. If that is in the records, which I dont know, they may question her about why that happened. I doubt it would disqualify her though. then again thats just my 2cents and im not an expert

wow VSC is at a complete standstill lately. :(

xlbLoOdlx, congrats ! I am myself flying to meet him (only for a few days)because that is all the time I can take off of work but if you can take off more time than that is great for you. As for the J1 make sure she does not fall under the 2 year Foreign Residence Requirement. If she does and the two years have not passed, she needs to apply for a waiver. I had to go through a similar ordeal with the J1 8 years ago. It's not fun. Here's a link with more info :

Best of luck to you, enjoy the time you will be spending together and lets hope its a speedy return to the states.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

Start calling/emailing NVC in about a week. I called and emailed yesterday. On the phone they said "we dont have it blah blah" (Note: NVC phone people are 10000x nicer), though the email reply this morning gave me my DOS case number.
