Standard Response for expedite

Hi guys, so the uscis have now had our expedite request for 8 days so far incl. weekend and the info has been sent via fax twice, fed ex and also via email. Yesterday my wife received the following email :

Thank you for your inquiry. The supporting documents that you have sent via fax transmission have been received and will be consolidated into the file for further review. You should receive a notice of action* when we have made a decision or if further evidence is requested regarding the petition.

*A notice of action may be in a form of Approval Notice, Denial Notice, Transfer Notice, Request for Evidence, Notice of Intent to Deny or Notice of Intent to Revoke.

has anybody else received this email - is it standard procedure perhaps, could it mean its being worked on now? Our case status online hasnt moved since it was touched - presumably for the expedite request on the 27th Sept.

If anyone could shed any experience Id be really grateful.

We also requested an expedite as you can see in our timeline. Matt just received a letter from USCIS saying that they need supporting documents for the claimed expedite. But I (wife) wasn't able to gather the documents needed yet. We will try to fax it next week.

Received a touch on the case today 10/7. Still in Initial Review.

Hopefully its a good sign that they are looking at the case now - either that or they are trying to comprehend the masses of paperwork that they now have regarding our expedite request!

Received a further email today -

Your documents were received. Your expedite request will be forwarded for review today. If approved, your petition will be adjudicated within 24 hours. If it’s not, it will be adjudicated within the normal processing time.

Does this involve illness? What are the conditions to request expedite?

On the uscis website the criteria for expedite is extreme emergent medical situation, humanitarian, severe financial loss or debt to a company or individual, and a couple of things to do with the uscis / govt.

We're in the same boat as you..requested an expedite..faxed in the documents last Wednesday, but we did not receive any emails. My wife called today to see what was going on, and they told us not to contact them, and that they would contact us by mail or email once a decision has been rendered..I think the chick she got a hold of was probably having a bad day. So we'll give it another week, I believe Darnell or Loto said that usually you'll hear something in 1 to 2 weeks. My prayers for you and for us as well. I'm very curious to see how this pans out considering we requested an expedite at the same time. We got touches on 9/28, 9/29 and 9/30...and now quiet. So if you got a touch on 10/7...that looks very promising..at least they haven't put you back in the pile.

Yes, this is only our second touch, one the day after my wife put in the service request, and one today. We had 2 emails, one today and one yesterday, and also the letter which mirrors an email requesting further info. Its become quite serious now, so Im really pushing as much as I can. Id say 75 percent of the time if you can speak to an ISO - Tier 2 you're far better off. Although the email I had today was from an ISO, too.

Hope you get your request approved too I'll keep you up to speed on what happens with us.
