A Place to Get Passport Photo Taken?

I've been trying to find places in Canada that can take a US-style passport photo taken in Canada and have been frustrated with the results. Does anyone have recommendations for places I can go? Is it possible I can do this myself? I know an amateur photographer who can probably snap a photo that meets US requirements and I can edit it to the size requirements and print it on my own. Is there any such requirement that the photo be taken by a professional or company at all? We are trying to fill out our I-129F right now.

I actually sent Canadian sized passport photos with our I-129F, and didn't get an RFE. I guess didn't read the instructions on that part very clearly!

But, I know Walmart can do US sized photos. When I went to our local Walmart back in Canada to get photos for my passport, they specifically asked if I wanted US or Canadian sized photos.

I wonder how much they really care about the photo in the I-129F or if I am just making a big deal out of nothing (a theme for me). I have tried going to WalMart but the man at the one I went to looked at me like I was crazy and said he only does Canadian ones and doesn't know what US requirements are so he won't do them. Maybe I should try another WalMart? I'd really like to just do this myself at this point.

I got mine done at the local CAA. Cost $15 for a set of two pictures.

Just tell them you need 2" X 2". Shouldn't be a problem. I had mine done at Walmart. They didnt know the specs, so I just told them 2X2, and they were fine.

I had them done at multiple places, for the I130 I got mine done at blacks and my sons at sears, I got the phones for nvc done at Shoppers and the ones for the medical done at walmart. so 4 good places but please tell them they are needed for US as they will make them the right cut for you....except for sears in the states They gave me a large print out and the lady at the interview is going to have to cut them out (as i might screw it up )

I had mine done at Shoppers Drug Mart. $9.99 for 2 pictures. They had a binder of all the different sizes and requirements. I had a little shine on my face because it was a hot day, so they went to the cosmetic department and got some translucent powder to take the shine off. They were very good. I will go back there for ones I need for the medical and such.

I didn't think to try Shopper's Drug Mart. I have one near where I work and can drop by tomorrow. Thanks!

Good luck! Don't forget to set your timeline on here when you get a chance.

Get normal ones done at any place.

CUT OFF THE BOTTOM LITTLE BIT SO THEY ARE SQUARE.

I did this for mine and did not get an RFE.

I got mine done at costco cuz it was cheep, and they cut it to the right size for me. For sending in the original I-129F, we just used canadian size pictures, I got the US sized ones for the consulate.

Black's Photography. Their computer has a program in it that has the passport photo requirments for several countries including the US. Best part is they will give you a disc with a copy of your photo if you ask, which is great incase you need to reprint any.
