Our I-130 app was received on March 31, and we see on the website that they sent us the NOA2 (I believe) yesterday, September 22nd. Is there anything we can do now to expedite things? I have gathered all my vaccination records and such. Any other suggestions are welcome and appreciated!

Thanks!

hey !

In a bit, about 2 weeks or so, can get busy at NVC.

Since yer Canadien, you qualify for NVC Electronic Processing...

NVC EP - http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing

Canada NVC EP - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/224010-electronic-processing/

if you'd like to 'stay postal' and NOT go EP - that's ok too, can get some speed by hooking in with the online payment portal at

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467

ultimately, regardless of method, will be slinging stuff into NVC - so time to review NVC Stuff -

DS-230 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

I-864 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3730.html

General NVC stuff - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

You're going to be dealing with NVC, the record through NVC here on VJ is 13 days, if you are on top of things and proactive. Follow LingChe's shortcuts to help you through NVC quickly and be-proactive

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut

Just so you know, Montreal is a terribly slow consulate for dealing with Cr-1 visas (the only consulate that deals with them) so after NVC, you're going to be looking at 3-5 months for an interview

Good luck

Hi everyone,

I have been so busy reading the links and everything, I almost forgot to say... THANK YOU! I appreciate all of the input. You guys ROCK!

My hubby is in the US Army and will be out of town (away from his home mailing address) for three weeks (starting soon). Should I maybe NOT appoint him as my agent, and just have NVC mail everything to me (the Beneficiary)? Any thoughts on this are appreciated!

Hugs,

C of GnC2010 :)

I appointed my husband as the agent, even though he works in a different state and was out of town 4 days a week consistently. Honestly, if you are proactive and do not wait for NVC to send you anything, you don't really need to have someone at the address to receive mail

Took us 25 days to get through NVC, granted I think I called every day for updates, but it saved us heaps of time

Good luck

:thumbs: There really isn't anything you need to receive via regular mail, as long as NVC has your email you are fine. If you op-in for electronic processing even better.

C of GnC2010 :)

is no need for NVC to mail you anything, actually. Or yer USC husband.

mail = postal mail

email = something else ;)

postal mail process, at NVC, whilst do-able, is about 9 months, from start to finish.

perhaps you'd like to 'try a different way' ? postal mail processing @ nvc is really slow.

even with that said -

you might was well appoint him as yer agent , as it's part of the OPT IN process.
