I'm currently living with my FI in Mexico. I'm on a six month tourist visa here, though, so technically I'm not "legally residing" here. I'm even working freelance for a US company.

My USPS address is still registered to my mom's house in the states as are all my bank accounts/credit card statements/etc.

Is there any reason that I need to list our Mexian address as my address on the I-129F, or more importantly, as one of my "residences in the past five years" on the G325A?

I feel like it will just confuse matters to put the Mexico address where our apartment is (the apt is in his name btw.). I want all the visa related document to go to my US address. I go back there frequently, anyway...so is it necessary? Will it look like I'm hiding something if I DON'T put it?

I just don't want to cause confusion. I suppose I could put a note like "I'm currently on an extended visit to Mexico but my official residence in the US" somewhere on my application...

You need the U.S. address. Let that be the address and handle paperwork from there. I believe the "residences in past five years" stipulates residences of 6 months or more, yes? So if you haven't been in Mexico for 6 months at the time of filing, don't bother listing it.

It's not a lie to put down your official address--your mother's. People have addresses, and then do other things like travel and go on working trips and stuff. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you can deal with the paperwork in a prompt manner via your return visits to the States.

I did not realize that "residences in past five years" stipulated residences of 6 months or more....do you know where it states that? Because I have lived a couple of other places in the past five years for less than six months, and so has my FI. It would make life simpler but I did not see that stated on the form about six months or more only...

You know, I might be thinking of places the beneficiary has to get police reports from--places he/she's lived for 6 months or more. If it's not on the G325, it's not on there.

I would use your own discretion. I have lived in more places than I listed, but I just wrote down the major players, the places where I dug in my heels and whose addresses were used for official business, not that place I lived in for 5 weeks before I realized the roommate was psychotic, etc.

I would still consider your current, official address at your mom's your present address.

On a similar note, my boyfriend's job is probably going to move him to another part of Mexico in the next few months. We want to list his mom's address as his main address too, though he is not currently living there. Do you think that is ok or soemthing we have to explain on the form?

No I think that's fine without an explanation. My husband listed his mother's house the whole time, even though he moved a bit for work and things. Just need a stable address for receiving packets and things.

Thanks. We are listing his current residence address on the G325A - since he has lived here from January until "Present time". However, on the I129, we list his address as his mother's address.

This won't cause confusion? Should I explain?

If there is anything in your application that you think might be confusing, you can always explain it in a cover letter.
