Hello everyone!

We are about to embark on the K1 journey. I am currently collecting information and putting together the I-129F package.

I am glad I came across this site, its very helpful, thanks to all that are contributing to this site.

In nutshell: I am a Dutch citizen and the "USC" lives in NYC. We met online and we have seen each other frequently subsequently (but not frequently enough!).

We are hoping to get through this ASAP.

My first questions (of the many that very likely might follow):

1) I lived and worked in the US in the past (2002-2004), I was there on a E2 visa (non immigrant), I obtained a SSN/SSC.

I just want to make sure I am filling this in correctly: on the I-129F form, Part B, Q 8, I DO fill in my SSN? right?

2) I will include, as evidence that we met, amongst other things prints of the tickets purchases. Obviously mine are predominantly in Dutch, how much of these documents needs to be translated into English (if any part)?

3) I will also include pictures of us together on the different visits. In this day and age its all digital so I plan to print the relevant pictures with explanatory notes (date and place) on regular paper. Does anyone have experience with this?

I wish all a speedy journey and my thanks for any and all helpful information you can give us.

1. Yes

2. If you have the itineraries, or ticket stubs that would be good. The stuff in Dutch is pretty much useless at the K1 petition stage where you can assume that only english speakers are handling it. At the K1 visa part (after the petition is approved) then dutch at the interview would be fine (as more evidence) because they'd be able to speak dutch (I'd hope!)

3. Sounds good to me. A lot of people do it this way. i personally didn't, I just included pics of us together. No dates, no explanation, however photos are secondary evidence.

Long story short I sent my ticket stubs, travel itinerary, photocopy of VWP stamp in my passport and photos of us together (no notes or anything on the pics). Petition approved no RFE's or anything.

Good luck and congrats. i'm going to move this topic so you get more help.

It looks like the move didn't "take" so I'm doing what Vanessa had planned. lol

Vanessa has pretty much answered your questions. The stamps in your passport will show your US entries so I wouldn't bother with translating any documents at this stage. I, also, printed my pictures on regular paper and just made reference to them in my covering letter.

Remember - it's the USCitizen that files the I-129F petition -

then later, the 'foreign fiance' has other paperwork to do to wrangle the K-1 visa application.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hi,

Thanks for your input ...

But Dallas, last time I checked is in also Texas .... LOL

No, seriously, if I read this correctly http://www.visajourney.com/news/2010/08/12/change-of-filing-location-for-form-i-129f-petition-for-alien-fiancee/

Submitting to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox facility can be done in 2 ways:

1: if sent via U.S. Post Service (i.e. the regular mail service) the address is (double check link too)

USCIS

PO Box 660151

Dallas, TX 75266

OR

2: using Express mail or a courier service, the address is (double check link too)

USCIS

attn: I-129F

2501 South State Highway 121 Business

Suite 400

Lewisville, TX 75067

I assume that they both end up at the same USCIS facility but in general, as far as I know, Express or courier services don't deliver at PO boxes, that is why there is also a regular address. From there application get redistributed to their respective Service Centers.

Cheers,

Patrick

Yes, thanks for making sure, but I know the USC has to file the initial petition, however I (the foreign fiancé) am preparing most of the I-129F petition because I have more time to do so.

Cheers,

Patrick

Hi,

Thanks. We have plenty of evidence so I am sure I can put a package together that will paint a clear picture.
