Hi, I am in the process of I-130 for my wife. I have to send DS-230 to NVC. I am kind of confused what documents I need to send. Do I have to send my Birth Certificate? Also, do I need to send all original documents to NVC? In the instruction, It's really confusing.

Just wanna thank all VJ members. You are really a big help.

Thanks.

Loto, Darnell,

Is certified copy different from a photocopy of the original that has been notarized?

I'm always nervous about mailing out original documents to a "processing center" ... in case they disappear into a blackhole :(

But y'all have sent beneficiary's original birth/marriage certificates to NVC before, right?

missads, Yes I sent our originals in the last time.

Certified copy is the "extract from the respective issuance agency" in their business stationery with the seal or signature. It is NOT photocopy and notarized.

Yes, it is different.

a 'certified copy' - is a copy that's been certified as 'same as original' by the original issuing authority.

re: photo copy that's been notarized - sorry/pardon - notarized by WHOM?

I'm not up on any IndianStuff at all, so my ignorance will show ..
