It isn't as easy as you think it is for me to get into Jerusalem that way. Even though I have an American passport, I too need a day pass to get into Jerusalem through the checkpoint. I don't have a visa, I have a green I.D card just like anyother Palestinian citizen who is over 16. Thats why i'd need a day pass. I'm just going to give them untill saturday. Then I'll email the embassy here.

The only bad thing that can happen so far, is if they reject the new joint affidavit. Probably most unlikely since my sponser makes more than enough to support my husband, and he sent in tax returns like they asked. But one never knows the outcome.

One question, I read some posts on here, and some people have written that they emailed thier senator or some high official for help. Is there a way I can do that and get some help too??? Thanks

It is easier for you than it is for your husband. Face to Face, at the East Jerusalem Embassy, is faster and better than any other 'inquiry method'. You should probably 'hook up' with Muslim Queen today-ish - have a long private conversation with her - see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/user/75962-%26%239829%3Bmuslimqueen%26%239829%3B/ for her profile - suggest you send her a PM and also study all of her prior posts.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Well, sent in an email thursday asking about my husbands case. They replied friday saying: "

Your husbands case has been forwarded to an officer for review. As soon as a decision is made, we will contact him immediatly"

Well good news I guess? At least its not in AP, I think? Is this a good sign? How long should I wait to email again if I don't get a decision? Not trying to be pessimistic but I think I got used to getting bad news..

Next reminder can be in another 2 weeks (should be reasonable time), if you don't hear further.

If you haven't yet -

you really should send her a private message.

She could use some help at the Embassy - so if yer actually going to the Embassy, for any 'face to face' with a Consular Officer, you really should contact her PRIVATELY and have a talk.

I'm not so certain it was from 'congressional inquiry', Loto :(

I messaged her, and I think she is currently in America, not here. I'm not going to go to the embassy. i think its going to be a waste of time since im going to need a reason to pass thru the checkpoint in order to get a day pass, and to tell them my reason is just to ask a question isnt going to get me one. its hard to get a pass these days, trust me ive tried before.

No, it was a reply from an email I sent the counslet here in Jerusalem. I havnt emailed my congressman yet. Hopefully i wont have to. If i end up having to though ( HOPEFULLY NOT) itll be most likey me going to the states and meeting with them there. But im praying that we get good news soon.

Maybe the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer.. either that or its the light of the train.. loool

pardon my incredulity,

but as an American Citizen, going to the American Embassy is a valid reason.

you are absolutly right, but unfortunatly thats not the case here in palestine. i have a green id card. that interfeers with alot of my rights here as an american citizen. here are some of the disadvantages or shall i call them rights taken away bc i have this card:

1)I cannot travel thru tel aviv airport, i have to travel thru jordan.

2)I need a day pass to go to jerusalem since i live in the west bank. if it has anything to do with going to the american counslet, i need a paper from the counslet stating what the purpose of my visit is. then they must agree to give me a pass or not

3) I cannot go into Israeli land. they even stamp your AMERICAN PASSPORT on the last page stating that u carry a green id card and are not to be allowed in israel.

4)etc

the Israeli government doesnt care that i am an America citizen. if i carry a green id card, im just like any other non american citizen
