My Fiance in the Philippines lived and worked in Dubai for years 2005-2007. Somewhere in the K-1 procedure she is asked to present a police clearance certificate from any countries she had lived in. From what I see Dubai doesn't do this by mail. It has to be done in person. Has any one else had to deal with this issue ? Any info you can send me would be appreciated.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Where is your fiancee right now?

If she no longer in UAE, I think it's the same with Saudi Arabia that if third country national is no longer in a country Police Reords is not available.

Based on Reciprocity Schedule of UAE. You can find it here >>>> http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_4881.html?cid=3698

Police RecordsAvailable, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

Just print & present the Reciprocity Schedule with Consul in case He will look for Police Clearance. That will I gonna in case he will look my Police clearance from Saudi Arabia. I was in Saudi Arabia year 2007-2009.

Hope this could help you in anyway.

Overseas police record check is always pain in an a**. We've been going through this for almost 3 months now, still haven't complete it yet, still waiting.

however, just be patient and be positive, and good things will come eventually, hopeful quickly.
