Fiance's name and the Post Office

Hello Ladies,

There has been much talk about peoples EAD and/or GC being returned because the fiance(e)s name is not on the mailbox. I have enclosed the information on how to contact the USPS to have your fiance(e)'s name added to your residence. Please don't take any chances.

One other thing to think about too... and I stumbled over this when I moved several months back, you may even want to register the change with your county regarding vehicle taxes and things like that. Here in Kentucky we can do it via their website. Its pretty quick and painless. One more thing to show proof of your relationship come AOS time.

I tried to do this just now, and the rep at the 1-800 number said that there was nothing they could do, that I would have to contact the local office. Is there a specific form he needs to fill out, I wonder?

The lady took my name, his name and address and gove me a confirmation no to check to make sure the information got to my Post Office. She could not tell me what form to fill out but she said you had to get it from the Post Office. I am going to a Post Office at lunch and I will report what they tell me.

I did put my husband's name on the inside flap of our mailbox.

I stuck a post it saying that mail for hicham was being delivered here as well... is that good enough or should I still call?

I never did any of this and he has always received his mail. They never asked and just delivered it our home, my name isn't even on the mailbox. Now that we moved, it all is just being sent to the new place.

As a result of my phone call to USPS, they called my house to verify the information. Yes, I am truly shocked.

Background on why I posted the topic:

In the last couple of weeks that have been allot of things (EAD/GC) returned to USIS as undeliverable. When inquired it was because with something this important the Post Office (Carrier) didnt know know the person was living at the residence because there was nothing to identify them.

With all of the recent activities I guess they want to make sure that the Important (EAD/GC) documents are going to the right place. We have been getting the NOAs without my husbands name but I dont want to take any chances or spend any extra money on hunting down the cards if they were to be returned.
