Question about Police Check

Hi Everyone,

We just got our NOA2 and are getting our packets prepared for NVC. I received my police check from Calgary Police Services. It does say that Canada's National Repository for criminal records was serached and there's no record but it also says the following:

"This is to confirm that a Vulnerable Sector Search (Pardon Sex Offenders Records) has not been completed. If this Police Information Check is being disclosed by the applicant for employment or volunteering and will be dealing with the Vulnerable Sector the above must attend the Police Information Check Unit and obtain another Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector search completed"

Is this an issue? Did anyone else have this on their check?

I asked for a Canada wide name check for immigration purposes but am not sure if it is now considered incomplete.

The sex offender search is a seperate form that you have to sign in order for them to do it. I had both done because when I was there the girl asked me if i needed it as well. I was unsure if I needed it done so I signed the form. So on mine that box is checked that it was done and no record.

Ack it still worries me....Anyone else not do the Sex Offenders search? Need some reassurance vs redoing the police check that took 3 weeks in the first place! Thanks

I didnt and it was fine, my interview was last august 2009.

I had a Provincial Police clearance done, and now I just applied for an RCMP one and they fingerprinted me, etc..however i'm still in NOA1, I just wanted to get this done early...am I too early though?? How long is a Police Clearance good for??

Police checks will be accepted for one year from the issue date.

if you DO NOT HAVE A RECORD then you do NOT need finger prints, and a form from your local police saying that they searched the CNR is fine.

if you DO have a record then you need all the bells and whistles from the RCMP.

I do not have a record:

Mine was an Ontario Provincial Police certificate, no finger prints, no sex offenders, and it was accepted in July 2010.
