Tax transcripts only one year?

Hi,

Today I got my most recent three years of tax transcripts faxed to me.

I didn't really had good income in 07-08, because I was a college student. Will my

tax info for 2009 will be enough? I also had name change and have diferent names on 07-08 tax returns, I don't wan't

to get RFE for that.

Please advise :blink: .

The reason for sending the transcripts for the most recent 3 years is to prove that you have filed. The CO will use the most recent tax year plus your current income to evaluate the affidaivt of support.

In your g-325a you listed all other names used, so the adjudicator will have that information as well.

Art, some more additions.

Since you are in the initial stage of I-130, why don't you get an original IRS tax transcripts by mail for the last 3 years. It won't take more than 2 weeks to get it. Fax is good, but original is better.

As Anh map said, they would consider the most recent and the current year income more closely.

On top of I-130 and G-325A forms, if you have any other govt. agency issued certificate for the name change, please include it as well.

Tax transcript will have same line of details as your IRS 1040 form. If you have filed 1040 last year, check Line# 22. This is the amount they look for qualification.

I presume your household is 2 - you and your beneficiary (and you don't have any other dependents), you live in the mainland of the U.S and not employed in U.S military. If yes, your Line# 22 of 1040 must be above $18,212.
