hi

I had a question about the G-325A that must be filed with the I-130. I am an American citizen petitioning for my spouse oveseas. As you know,I need to provide one G-325A for myself and one for my husband. One of the last items on the G-325A asks us to make a selection as to what "This form is submitted in connection with an application for..."

You are given the choice of checking off "Naturalization", "Status as a Permanent Resident" or ""Other, (specify)".

Which one do I select for myself as the petitioner here in the USA, and which one do I select for my husband, a non-US citizen overseas. If I select "Other" on my G-325A, I could specify that I am filing the I-130, however that would not be the case for my husband's form since he is the beneficiary.

Any info on this would be of great help.

Thanks in advance.

On both Petitioner and Beneficiary G325-A, I selected OTHER and wrote CR-1 Visa

This question is not that strict IMO, I believe there are many different acceptable answers to this question.

On both G-325A forms (yours and your husband's), select Other (Specify), then type I-130/CR1 (if you have been married for less than 2 years) or I-130/IR1 (if you have been married for 2 years or longer) in the space provided.

Are you using the G-325A form on the USCIS website? If you are, that's ok, it is the official form, although I have heard many complaints about information not fitting in some of the boxes...the USCIS updated the form recently and now the font size they are using for the fillable form is too big.

You can still use that form, just prepare and extra sheet on Microsoft Word in case there is information that doesn't fit and attach it to your G-325As.

One other solution you may be interested in is to search for a member named Stephen + Elisha. He was able to unlock the USCIS version of the form and has made the font size smaller so you can type more stuff!

You can download the form Stephen + Elisha modified in the link under his post signature.

I used it for my own application recently, though I still had to use an extra page...but at least there was less stuff to type on the extra sheet!

Hope that helps.

Oh Oh. I check the (Status as permanent resident.) Should I send an e-mail to my husband to fix this? We have been married since 2007. Should we check (others) and specify? I just send all the papers to my husband in the USA, they will arrive on Friday. My husband will be filling out his G-325 A. I am the one moving.

Thanks in advance.

Marie,

Since you are the beneficiary, 'Status as Permanent Resident' is also correct. My wife filled it like you. No worries!

Your husband need to check 'Others' and specify for wife's I-130.

Hello everyone! Still prepare documents...:(

Can anybody say me what should I fill in G 325A about residence of my parents, if they are died. My husband called to USCIS, they said last residence (I think it is silly, they have no residence now), lawyer (we wanted to use him before) said to fill the date of death.

So.. what should I fill, how do you think people??

Thank you :)
