I have received intruction to start DS-230. I am helping my wife fill the form. Here are my questions?

  1. DS-230 part I question 32: " In what occupation do you intend to work in the United States? My wife worked as an accountant. When she comes, she intend to stay home be a housewife and later go back to school for a master. I don't know what to put there. Can we considere housewife as an occupation
  2. Does NVC send the approved I-130 and all its corresponding documents to the consulate?
  3. Is it ok to ask my wife to get some vaccinations done prior to getting the list of vaccination needed from the consulate?
  4. Does she need to my birth certificate, marriage certificate and divorce papers since I have already provided those in I-130?
  5. Where can I find documents check lists for DS-230. The check at NVC site is broad.

Can we considere housewife as an occupation "UNKNOWN" or "NOT DECIDED" etc.
  2. Does NVC send the approved I-130 and all its corresponding documents to the consulate? Yes. You can collect the originals back after the interview.
  3. Is it ok to ask my wife to get some vaccinations done prior to getting the list of vaccination needed from the consulate? Yes. It would save some money.
  4. Does she need to my birth certificate, marriage certificate and divorce papers since I have already provided those in I-130? Did you send the original or copy with I-130 to USCIS? If originals are sent, better arrange another original for the Consulate interview. USCIS will keep the originals with them.
  5. Where can I find documents check lists for DS-230. The check at NVC site is broad.
