I would like to include the snail mails and chats as proofs of our relationship. My concern is there are some parts of the chats/mails that sounds too personal (i.e. kinky). Please do not think I am a freak or something LOL. But what if there are some parts of the mail/chats we don't want them to read, what should I do about it? Thanks a lot.

No "proof of relationship" is required for the petition. Proof of meeting only.

Prrof of relationship is submitted at the visa interview and you most certainly do not have to provide ALL emails. If ALL your emails are kinky, then you ARE a freak.

We provided exactly FOUR emails from each of us, plus an email "log" listing each email that went back and forth, but not the exact wording. No need for the exact wording..."We exchange emails...see" I also showed the phone bills which listed numbers but did not say what was said or even which two (or more) people were talking on the phone. Could have been anyone using MY phone to call anyone using Alla's phone in Ukraine. what are the odds? Sometimes I did speak to the boys or her mother. What of it? It is all "relationship"

Show them some emails and be done with it. DO NOT show emails referring to each other as "husband and wife" if that was one of your kinks...not a good idea if you are applying for a K-1.

Yes, you can for most consulates. You also don't need any of it for the I-129f.

Please start a timeline so we know where you are in the process. Venus and I only sent a few emails and a few snail mails for our application. For the interview we had all sorts of chat logs and phone records and they were only interested in photos and my financial papers.

Just to reiterate Gary's point, you don't need any of this stuff with the petition. USCIS doesn't care whether you have a relationship. They care if you've physically met each other within the past two years, and whether you intend to marry each other within 90 days of entering the US. If you can prove both of these, then your petition will be approved.

Now, if you're trying to frontload the petition package with evidence for the consular officer to see, then that would be a valid reason to include some relationship evidence. However, choose your evidence carefully. There's no need to pile on 60 pages of chats and emails. Nobody is going to read all of that stuff, and they give this sort of evidence a limited amount of credibility because it's extremely easy to fabricate. Besides, your relationship doesn't look nearly as compelling when viewed as a text transcript. If you've ever sat through a courtroom trial, and then read the transcript of the trial afterward, then you know what I mean. You can say a helluva lot more with some well chosen pictures taken over the course of your relationship, and brief descriptive comments for each picture.

If you want to kill a few trees to print up all of your emails and chats for the interview, that's fine. There's something to be said for the visual impact of a beneficiary waddling in with reams of printed evidence. Just don't expect anyone to actually read all of that stuff. If they do actually ask to see some of your chats or emails, have the best ones preselected to hand them. Putting some webcam snapshots on the chat printouts will also help to convey the emotion a lot better than the words alone. I've read enough interview descriptions to know that, even at the tough consulates, photos are the strongest evidence.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
