Foreign passport for an interview - biometric or not

What are the requirements for a foreign passport these days when a person comes to an interview? Does the passport HAVE to be a biometric one?

Just for reference: my fiancee has an "old style" Ukrainian passport, but lives permanently in Italy.

For my interview all the embassy told me was I needed a valid passport - it had to have no less than 6 months left till expiration. I know ebassys are different but i would guess that in general a passport would need to be valid for everyone at the time of their interview.

Is hers still valid? or do they not have expiration dates on theirs from ukrain.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.
