Hello - I have a quick question. While processing I-130 for spouse of USC residing in Texas, I noticed our case is being processed out of California Service Center and case # begins with WAC. Why would that be? Why USCIS would not use Texas Service Center instead. I belong to the Texas jurisdiction. Just a question. Thanks!

Texas center is just an intake center to cash your check and forward to California all petitions either go to California or Texas and there is a Nebraska one too I think it all depends on where u live as to which center will process your file. WAC is standard prefix for case numbers nothing major.....Good Luck

[P]atient2010, you don't know what you are talking about. Case number starting with WAC are cases located in California. EAC are located in Vermont Service Center, SRC are in Texas Service Center, LIN are in Nebraska Service Center, MSC are in Service Center.

Recently USCIS has reprioritized their case loads. Instead of sending I-130's to their appropriate centers, they send all I-130's to California. Meanwhile, perhaps Texas center is dedicated to some other type of immigration. Don't worry that your case is in California. Most everyone's cases are in California despite being as far away as Maine, New York, etc.

N400 CITIZENSHIP STAGE

23-DEC-2016 -:- N400 form mailed to Dallas, TX Lockbox (USPS EXPRESS)

27-DEC-2016 -:- N400 form delivered/picked up by USCIS

01-JAN-2017 -:- N400 form fee check cashed by USCIS

04-JAN-2017 -:- N400 form received per NOA1

09-JAN-2017 -:- N400 form NOA1 notice date

14-JAN-2017 -:- N400 form NOA1 on hand through USPS

30-JAN-2017 -:- N400 fingerprint taken

01-FEB-2017 -:- N400 interview schedule process started

26-JUL-2017 -:- N400 interview date set (01SEP2017)

29-JUL-2017 -:- N400 interview letter on hand

01-SEP-2017 -:- N400 interview date - Interview passed

10-OCT-2017-:- N400 oath ceremony letter on hand (oath on 26OCT2017)

I do know what I am talking about and I thought you were filing K1 Visa not Spousal visa the info I gave is correct for K1 thanks. because during K1 Texas is intake and they forward our case to a service center and WAC is the pre-fix they give petitions out of CSC.. So the info I gave is correct just not for I130...Good luck with your journey lucas 34

Don't worry about which SC processes your case? Now-a-days, CSC takes the bulk load of I-130 across the country and very few go to VSC. But the processing timeline is same for both.

Texas Service Center NOT process I-130 petitions for IR-1/CR-1 visas, alas.

Texas Service Center NOT process I-130 petitions for IR-1/CR-1 visas, alas.

Only CSC and VSC handle them. And Nebraska too does not process I-130. But if there are any transfer, they might handle.
