Birth certificates are confusing

My fiance is from the UK and he is preparing his documents to take to the interview at the embassy. The birth certificate is one of the documents he needs to bring but his birth certificate is called a 'Certified Copy of an Entry'. It shows the place he was born, district, name, date, place of birth, details about the parents, address and date of registration. I can't find anything about it online. Is the 'Certified Copy of an Entry' the same as a birth certificate and if not is it sufficient to take to the interview?

Thanks in advance for any help you are able to give.

I had no clue what a full birth certificate was either.

I got mine on the yellow certificate style paper which says certified copy. It is an a4 size and has name of me, name and occupations and address of my parents etc. It fills the whole sheet. It was the only one I was able to get when applying for the duplicates anyway. I think a short one is only a few lines on like a tiny slip.

Hope this helps
