I-134 assets question

Hi,

I'm new here and about to start the visa process to bring my fiancee from the Philippines to me.

I searched for questions regarding the following but couldn't find anything.

I don't like banks and only have about $5,000 in my checking account...none in savings. I have around $11,000 invested in physical gold and silver bullion coins and can prove that by receipts of purchase.

Will the US embassy look down at this, or is it a big deal?

Has anyone had any problems with having "too little" money in the bank?

I can give all of my financial info here that I have filled in the I-134 form if needed.

Unless your using assets to make the poverty level needed - you do not need to list them.

This is an approximate of my income/assets/debt

41k income

5k in bank

15k gold/silver and other property

126k value of home

115k debt (mortgage and cc)

Any problems there?

Your income is sufficient in itself. (assuming you have just the two of them)

41K in salary/wages/retirement income is sufficient (unless your household is greater than 6). If that is the case then there is no reason to include assets.

With $41K annual income, you almost certainly qualify. That's all they care about. You don't need to reveal your entire net worth. You'll do that when it comes time for the divorce.

What will be the basis of the annual income? It was the Gross Pay of the salary or the Net pay?
