Update - Case Returned Back 2 USCIS for Review

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to update everyone on my case & ask another question before I take any action.

If you read my last postings regarding the return of my husband's case back to USCIS for Review, you will know that I have involved my Congresswoman, I have made a more official inquiry via USCIS, where the Customer Representative gave me a reference number to my inquiry & told me my local office has 30 days to respond...

Well, on Monday, August 30th, I received an email message from my local office stating that because our file was received by them on April 13th, that they are still under 180days processing time & that if I had any further questions to call them back. Now, the 180days expire on September 13th...When I logged into my USCIS account, I found that they touched my case on: AUGUST 31st (day after I received the email).

My question is, should I sit back and wait until September 13th or call them today to see if there are any new news on our case? My Congresswoman wants to wait to September 13th after the 180days before she makes her inquiry to USCIS. I certainly don't want to be push & risk getting any USCIS representative upset or bothered because of my persistency...

HELP!

Thanks to everyone who has responded with their advice, comments & words of support. I do appreciate it & hope that all of us who have been affected by the Embassies returning our cases back to USCIS for review, all have a happy ending by having our loved ones reunited & at home with us.

I would wait until the 13th and if your case still has no updates. Then, call on the 14th. Patience is the key here.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

are you talking to any ISO ? http://www.dhs.gov/x...37986181.shtm#5

Yes I did. They gave me a reference number to my inquiry and asked me to wait for 30days, for CA Service Center to contact me.

On the 30th, they contacted me via an email message but only to tell me that 180days had not passed yet & to wait until then before requesting any info on our case. But when I logged in this morning to my USCIS account, I see that they touched my case on the 31st, the next day after I received that email messae.

My worry is that often I've read that USCIS does not update the case status on the website...I'm just going crazy not having any sort of answer from USCIS on our case.

I will wait exactly until the 13th of September & call them & hope they have good news for us.

Thank you...I am just going crazy not hearing from USCIS!

I see they touched our case on the 31st but does this means they are working on it or what? Our 180 days will be up on the 13th...I will try to hang in there.

"I just hope they re-affirm & give my husband a 2nd interview...we deserve that much"...

Thank you Lotto.

I spoke to an immigration attorney as some have asked me to do & she told me that she often hears about these kind of cases being returned back to USCIS after they have been already approved. I informed her of my background of how I met my husband online, marrying him after 1 year of communication (first trip to Egypt & I married), our age difference & she said they cannot deny the petition based on that alone. That they would have to prove that my husband is ineligible for a visa, like having a criminal background of some sorts...She also said, that I can sue them? ?? That she has yet to see a case where she has sued on her clients behalf, where USCIS has not back down...But when I asked her about how much this would cost me...her answer was anywhere between 10,000-15,000. WOW!

Needless to say, she told me that it is a good idea to have my Congresswoman step in if USCIS does not give me their decision on my case review. In the meantime, I have been printing months worths of chat logs, email messages, and cell phone bills to show our continued relationship/communication. I do wonder though, do I need to print every single chat I've saved in my history starting from the first day I met my husband? Do you think this will be necessary??? That will be so much printing & the pounds of paper I will have after that.

Yes Lizz. To prove the relationship to the USCIS, every bit of information would be useful.

Thanks will do Lotto.

Do you think the extra pounds in paper weight will affect my luggage weight? LOL

I can just see myself traveling back to Egypt for the 2nd interview...with a large case of supporting evidence.

I am sorry to make fun of it Lotto but I tell you I am going crazy with this insanity.

That is a great idea. I did not know we could burn the chat history...Do you think I can do that both for Yahoo Messenger and in Skype?

I will try it.

Thanks a lot!

Otherwise if you get internet access and a printer there, print out there from those communication applications.

Will the setting I saved for lets say Messenger here in the States, work if I log in to my account from a computer in Egypt?

I have started some of the printing process here...I will try to continue that & what I don't finish, I will do in Egypt.

First, I gotta get through USCIS re-affirming our case. :innocent:

Thanks again.
