AOS supporting documents

Hope someone can help me.

I'm trying to gather all the supporting documents for the AOS, but I'm really confused about the tax returns. Do I have to request and pay $57 per tax return (Form 4506) to IRS to request copies of my "Federal Income Tax Return", or just photocopies of the returns (the copies of the 1040s I filed before). And the W2 and 1099, do I have to request that from IRS also, or a photocopy of my W2 and 1099 will suffice?

I-130

12/22/09: I-130 receipt date (Sent by lawyer to CSC)

8/20:10: Approved/NOA2

9/03/10: NVC # generated, gave e-mail adds

9/08/10: Received IV/AOS fee bill

9/09/10: Paid AOS/IV

9/13/10: Mailed completed AOS, enetered into the system on 9/14

9/19/10: Mailed completed DS-230, entered into the system on 9/22

10/13/10: CASE COMPLETE!!!

04/06/11: Case upgraded from F2A to CR-1

05/03/11: Final review completed

05/17/11: Interview date scheduled!

05/20/11: Forwarded case to USEM

06/10/11: Interview - APPROVED!!!

You can go on line to request tax transcripts or do it by phone. These are free. They will mail them in about 2 weeks or you can ask them to fax to you if you have a fax number.

The $57 tax return is from form 4506, this is not needed.

You need to fill out the IRS form 4506-T

On that form, write in Form "1040" and select Tax Return Transcripts in the box below.

Tell them you want it for the last 3 years. They will mail a double-sided set of Tax Return Transcripts which you can then use as proof you filed your tax returns with the IRS. Your W2 and 1099 will not be needed if you submit Tax Return Transcripts.

Update: Your question is regarding Naturalization (N-400) and not the CR-1 Visa. Based on your status it is possible the steps I told you are not correct as I am not sure what documents or proofs you have to submit for the AOS for a Naturalization case.

Wait for others to respond with more specific information regarding an AOS for a Naturalization case.

and if you need them superfast, walk into yer local IRS office, request them face to face, can walk out with tax transcripts, in small amount o time.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

No, they completed Naturalization, filed I-130 for beneficiary and approved.
