Good Morning MENA!! Happy Thursday!!

Well its my last day here in Detroit, and it's kind of bitter sweet. Looking forward to going home and seeing my kids and preparing to go to Cairo, but so hard to say good-bye to family and friends

Hope everyone has had a great week so far...does anyone have any plans for the holiday weekend?

Good morning MENA and Happy Thursday!!! Hey Mandy and Charles... Mandy sorry about your bittersweet feelings but you can see them again when your honey gets here that would be fun...Charles sorry about your stitches i had a dream about Michael Jackson... i was buying a ticket to see him and it was like he was at the ticket booth getting ready to leave.. i called his name and he turned around and i beckoned him to hug me and he did and then i started crying in his arms i miss him soooooooooooo much... even Tears for Fears cared about him... i remembered when he and his brothers came to Birmingham to rehearse for their Victory tour.. my father wouldn't let me go to see him.. i was devastated... i loved him more than anything... i love you Michael

Morning Wonderful...yes, we plan on coming back when he gets here, it will be fun!!

I use to be a HUGE Michael Jackson fan when I was younger, and I still like a lot of his older music. I was devestated when he died, I couldn't believe it. After he died my 10 year old (9 at the time), became obsessed with him. Wanted books, CD's, movies, the hat, you name it, he wanted it. He mastered the moon walk and other moves...after awhile I started to worry about him haha.

Anyway, I still can't believe he is dead either, its such a tragedy!!

Wael doesn't have class on Friday and Monday is a holiday so he is happy to have the

time off to study. We won't be doing much this weekend. Just tryin' to stay cool!

Did anyone watch Chasing Mummies last night? Dr H is really a character!

Almost Friday..yay!!

LOL Now that I got that out of my system! This week has really been nice I have to admit! I got quite a bit of work done, so I feel pretty good! And I have a 3 day weekend coming, even if I am on call Saturday night!!! At least I will be off on Sunday and Monday!! Whoo hoo!

Planning on taking hubby to EPCOT on Sunday. We were going to get Mickey not so scary halloween tickets for his birthday, but found out he MIGHT be working on his birthday!!! :dance: As much as I would love to go it for his birthday, having a job is waaayyyy more better!!!!

Mandy I was talking with hubby last night about Cairo! He was looking at the pictures from my last visit over there with him in Cairo for his interview and all the fun we had! I am ready for another trip over there!!!

Hey Jeanne sorry Berber Mama, i didn't see your post, hello to you too yes Jeanne, i saw Chasing Mummies last night that was a hilarious episode..the camel races Zahi was fussing at Leslie Zahi is afraid of bats but not dead people habibi was laughing too.. i still love Zahi though and i'm glad he doesn't have to retire just yet imagine bats are the great pharoh Zahi's weakness i'm being funny, like i said i LOVE Zahi.. go Egypt

Hey Everyone!

I called the place that I've recently been through the intensive application and interview process with to find out what the status was on the government job. It seems that no one has been hired yet and the process is on pause in the bowels of HR. They think the background checks are behind. They said that as far as they knew they wanted to hirer someone by the 7th to begin training but that the latests they would hirer is the 21st. That's the day the software trainer comes and trains a group of people for the new software. The position I applied for is specifically to be the sole person in charge of and using this new software for the government with the other people as their backup encase something happens. It's the state hiring me but this software with my job is intended to cover the United States. I'd be the designated representative for this state. So I guess it's like a federal job but I'd be a state employee?

Anyways, I'm still waiting with anticipation to hear some news soon. We desperately need this money. It would cover all of dh's USMLE's steps. There are 3 USMLE steps and the 2nd step is 2 parts so it's four test fees. Each fee runs between $720 - $1000. It's well known that 7% of the people that take the exam pass but you can take each step several times. One of the steps is only offered in 6 locations around the US so we'd also have to cover the fees for his travels to take this exam. That exam is a clinical one where actors play the role of a patient that comes into the office and gives them a list of symptoms and they have to try to diagnosis them successfully. Because of the nature of the exam that's why it's only offered in 6 cities around the US.

If I don't get this job after 9 months of searching here we may be moving to Baltimore sooner than we think.

Thanks Jenell. I'm trusting in spirit right now because I believe that has a lot to do with this job and divine timing. I just noticed I spelled hire as hirer. lol - I can spell hire. That's what you get when you don't double check. I know from reading reports that through Jan-June of 2010 Idaho was in the bottom 10 states for job creation and Maryland was in the top 10 for job creation. I think when my dh goes to Baltimore to visit family he's going to see how much better it is there and want us to move there. There are a lot more advantages to moving there. Plus it seems his sister is having hard times right now with her mass behind her ear and not knowing what it is from all the doctor consultations, then juggling her PhD work with resubmitting for another year of scholarship funding from the school back in Egypt and registering for her fellowship/residency matching and placing for the upcoming year, and her eldest daughter having teeth problems and now her youngest daughter has just broken her leg the day before yesterday.

If we got this job here though that would be a great boost for us keeping him on track with his studying for his medical exams and we could save money for a car and moving expenses for when he goes through matching and placing for his residency/fellowship. If we don't get the job and she doesn't get the 2nd year of scholarships approved to stay in the US and work on her PhD then we're all kind of on pause until we see if she is accepted for matching and placing next March.

The tension is thick this month but I'm working with the high energy in a positive way in anticipation of a breakthrough.

Wow Olivia, I didn't know all of that was going on.. it seems you have your plate full... but you are a strong woman .. you can do it.. like i said never give up.. and if Baltimore is where you need to be then go there.. always have a backup plan and a backup for that plan too...certain situation with me i wanna give up but i have to keep going... i say the same to you Olivia...ALWAYS press forward and put your faith in GOD... i have faith in you...you be blessed, i insist
