Ok, so I am still waiting for an interview date like everyone else seems to be right now, We will get one soon guys! :)

However I am having problems sleeping already haha I over think things sometimes, so here is my questions. 1) Has anyone brought anyone to the interview such a a Canadian mother,aunt,brother or anything? I have a four year old son who is going to be bored to tears (as most kids are) and would like to know if anyone can come into the embassy with me to help me with my son (also are we allowed to bring any toys with us?) 2) I have read before that you are not allowed to bring backpacks into the embassy or any big bags, At the moment I have far too much "paperwork" 3-13 pocket expanding file folders,3 small photo albums and 2 document holders. Now I know I am not going to need or be able to bring it all, but what is the average amount of stuff people bring? One file folder and a couple albums? any advice on either of the two?

ur 4 yr old does NOT have to attend the interview (believe 12 and under, or is it 14??? do not have to attend). No clue if they would allow CDN inlaws with you if you did bring him????

U do NOT need to bring a pile of evidence! Yes bring some, but lot of times they do not ask to see anything. bring a few pics,letters, but one does not need a whole photo album!! Quality over quantity. Everything I brought, fit into one of those 13 files plastic accordion folders (legal sized 15.5" X 10") Easily accommodated all the paperwork I had to bring, a few photos, a few letters, airfare ticket stubs and that was about it! Nice and compact and organized. A well spent $7 at walmart,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Are you sure about the 12 and under, He is a cr-2? That would be awesome If he could stay home for the long time haha. Would you guys happen to know the montreal embassy email address so I could get a confirmation on this?

My kids were 9 and 12 and had to attend the interview as it was a CR2 not a K visa.

I took in 1 expandable file folder. I took what I had submitted through the process and some evidence. Wasn't asked to see any evidence.

Not sure about anyone else being able to go in other than a US citzen.

Removal of Conditions: 12/09/2011

ROC check cashed 12/15/11

NOA1 12/13/11

Biometrics 1/6/12 Complete

RFE 9/13/12

RFE package sent back 10/17/12

Card Production Ordered 12/04/12

10 year card arrived in mail 12/10/12

1) Only U.S citizen are allowed in the consulate, or interpreters... Canadian family members are not allowed in

2) Backpacks are not allowed in either. But you can put your filing thingy in a plastic bag...

ok, I was wrong on the Kid thing, sorry!! But you dont need tons of evidence, just Quality evidence!

You --CAN-- bring in a bag.

I used one of those large reusbale open top shopping bags,

BUT they made me stop at security and open the bag and move the stuff around so he could see inside to make sure there wasnt anything that wasnt supposed to be in there. Then once inside they sent it through the scanner thing, and swabbed all inside and outisde of the bag.

Like you I had a lot of stuff with me, and during the interview they didnt ask to see any of it, aside from the usual paperwork and our documents.

So if I had to do it over, I would have condensed greatly.
