Hey there guys, i have my interview for a k1 fiance visa in 3 weeks time. i believe i have everything in order, was just wondering what forms and documents in total i have to take?and do i have to make a copy of every single document i take with me?just wondering if this is the case, and maybe why it is? if anyone had any feedback on this matter, or a run down of a complete checklist that would be even more amazing, as there are always different sites saying different things, and like any of you guys, i just want to get it perfect!

Good luck to everyone, and hope to hear from you soon!

The list of documents you'll need varies from one consulate to another. Before anyone can tell you what documents you'll need you will have to tell us what consulate you're interviewing at.

The instructions you get from the consulate will usually indicate which documents you must bring copies of. They often request you submit copies along with some forms. Any evidence type documents, like birth certificates, you should bring copies of. Otherwise, they may keep the original document for the file.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

For London you'll need 2 originals and 1 copy of the DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157, and DS-230 pt.1.

You'll also need the I-134 and all supporting documents for your sponsor as well as one for each co-sponsor (if you have any).

You'll need an original and copy of your Police Certificate (ACRO/ACPO) and any divorce decrees, your birth certificate (long form required), Letter reaffirming your intent to marry, your passport, proof of ongoing relationship, etc.

Hope this helps.

Hey Dodi, yeh that does help, thank you very much. I have all those documents. Quick question though, the forms you labelled in the first line, I sent them all in previously when I was asked to, otherwise I would not have received the interview. Do I have to take more of them in again?

Thanks very much and congratualtions!

According to everyone else's reviews of the consulate, you'll still need to take originals and copies with you to the interview. I don't know why. One person even said their originals somehow weren't in their file that they'd already sent in, and the rude lady who takes the forms when you first get in accused them of not sending them. HOW ELSE DID THEY GET AN INTERVIEW SCHEDULED????

I swear, the Brits really need to learn how to complain more. It's the only way they're ever going to get people to give better service.
