Hello All,

My fiancee received her interview date for September 27, 2010. I know that they do not give the Visa the same day, so it will be mailed. My fiancee advised me that October 1-October 8 is a holiday, so that may delay the delivery of the visa as well. Has anyone interviewed in Guangzhou recently and if so, how long did it take from the interview date to receive the visa? I need to purchase an airline ticket for her but don't want to buy it until i know she has the visa in hand.

She will be arriving a few days before the interview by plane, but will be taking the train back to Zhenjiang. She is telling me it takes 33 hours by train to travel from guangzhou to her city. WOW! On top of that, she says if you do not purchase a ticket early, she will have to stand. So any info would be appreciated. Thank you

I wish there was some 'standard visa issuance' guidance from GUZ IV, but mostly, there's not.

The Embassy is closed during that holiday, so

IF the mail room gets it OUT THE DOOR into an EMS truck prior,

it'll show up during the holiday (EMS never takes off)

but

is slight possibility to have the visa packet 'held for her to pickup in person' at GUZ IV - she has to ask for it, at the interview, during the interview.

She'll need, in addition, to ask for a 'slip' to show the guards, to come in again to pick up the passport.

Is possible to also inquire NOW via email into the GUZ IV portal thingie - expect answer back within 10 days.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
