Hello! I submitted our K-1 visa paperwork on June 19, 2010. I want to go visit my fiance now ... but also think its important to be present for his interview. However, I don't have enough vacation time to do two trips if they are going to be close together. Since there are no guarantees on when the interview might be, how can I plan ahead to visit? Is it possible to visit before the end of the year and for the interview w/o the visits being back-to-back? Ideas?

I guess it all depends on how much time you need in between trips.

If you look through the timelines you'll see that California is just now getting started on June NOA2s so it's reasonable to say you may get yours in the next month or two. With that in mind check out the processing times for your consulate to see the average time it takes to get your interview date.

Your petiton would take about 3 to 4 months to be approved. After your petition its approved it would take about 2 more weeks for the petition to get to your fiances embassy, and about 2 more weeks for her to actually get it by mail, thn finally it would take about 2 to 3 more months to get her visa interview. If i was you i would go visit your fiance right now and spent time with her. This will help more as evidence of your relationship that she can take to the embassy when her interview date comes. keep the tickets and boaring passes and make copies of them. This will prove that you guys have actually met in person over the past 2 years.

It is not necessary that you go with your fiance to the interview with your fiance althought you may do so. She can get her visa approved with no problem as long as she has all of the paperwork that its mentioned in the package and in order. she will recieved this package after the embassy gets the petiton from the NVC office.

Good luck!
