Texas Processing Center 129F

Hello,

My fiance (from Nigeria) and I (US Citizen) are living in Ecuador. I filed the K1 visa application and sent it into the Lewisville, Texas center.

I am confused, because when I try to check processing times, there is no drop down for the Texas center on the USCIS website, nor is there a 129F drop downbox to select for that center.

Also, the application was delivered on August 11, 2010, FedEx. I keep checking to see if the check has been cashed and it has not yet and it´s already August 24th.

This seems excessively long not to be cashed, compared with what I read about others in the same position.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Many thanks. Theresa

I'm not sure about your check, but I can tell you that Texas is only an intake center. They'll receive your petition, log it into the system and then forward it on to the appropriate service center, either Vermont or California, based on where you live. Since you live outside the country, I'm not sure which center it would go to.

Did you get delivery confirmation that your package was indeed, received by TX? If so then I would wait patiently for another week or so. If not, I'm not sure what else to advise. Maybe its taking extra time because you live outside the country?

Hopefully someone else might come along after me with more information and advice! good luck anyway on your journey!

give it another week or so for them to cash the check and as stated before your file is only in intake in Texas and will be forwarded to the proper place once it is in the system if you dont see any action in another week or so call USCIS also the process times is about 5months I believe now.

Maybe its taking extra time because you live outside the country?

Not to worry, living abroad won't affect your processing time.

Did you send it registered mail so that you could track it and it would require a signature upon delivery? If you didn't send it first class it will probably have taken a week to get there so it may not be that far out of range.

Thank you everyone for your replies. Yes, I sent the package via FEDEX, and tracked that is had been received by Texas. It was received on August 11th, and it´s already the 26th, which is why I was concerned about the time it´s taking to cash the check. I´ll wait another week.
