Question on Manila airport fees

When my wife (then fiancee)and I flew back to the US last year, in addition to the 750php (I think) terminal fee, she had to pay some other kind of fee. Does anyone know if she will have to pay that again and what it was for (and how much)? She is flying Tuesday morning.

In sept '09 we just paid 1500p to depart (750p x 2). There was no "extra" fee from what I recall.

My wife will be flying back around late March-early April '11 for a visit and I too would like to know if there are any new "fees" at Manila.

I assume you are talking about the 1,620 Pesos she had to pay. That is the travel tax fee. If it is not included in the price of the ticket - then she would have to pay it.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

No she doesnt have to pay the travel tax, she only have to pay 100PHP or 200PHP for travel tax exemption certificate if she have her green card with her.. I flew to Manila in Nov 09 and only paid the travel tax exemption certificate going back to the US (sorry i cant rem if it was P100 or P200) and also the P750 airport fee. My son (USC) only paid P750 for airport fee

Here is a little more info.

Payment of Philippine travel tax is imposed by law for all Filipino Passport holders, returning resident (immigration status 13 A,B,C,D,E,G) , Recognized Filipino Citizens (RFC) & Permanent Residents (immigration status RA 7919 & RA 7837), as well as other nationalities staying longer than one (1) year in The Philippines.

It must be paid only upon leaving The Philippines. It is charged by the airline on top of the purchase price of your international ticket. Foreign nationalities may therefore be requested by their travel agent or airline to show their passport with visa status, or in its absence, the latest stamp of arrival in The Philippines.

The amount is Php 1,620.00 per adult.

I think that there is also a waiver for US green card holders & returning Filipinos. Someone can come in and give us more info on that.

I am chatting with my wife now & he sister say it is 200 pesos for the waiver - her sister travels a lot.

For those whose tickets will be issued in the Philippines, payment is through the airline/travel agency.

Airport Embarkation Tax :

Passenger Terminal Fee is levied on all passengers embarking for:

1. International travel (including Security Fee): PHP 750.-.;

2. Domestic travel: PHP 200.-.

Place of payment: Airport of departure.

Exempt:

1. Children under 2 years of age.

2. Transit passengers remaining in the transit area and not leaving the airport.

3. Crew members.

750 terminal fee. Then since she has a GC she shows this to the desk where she would pay the travel tax and an exemption is given. The cost as several have posted in 200. We have been there and done that.

At the domestic airport we've had security personnel try to get us to pay them a "fee" too. They've come up to us between the time we walk from the ticket counter to the last carry-on luggage scanner pretending to be very helpful while trying to con us out of some beer money.

Yes, you paid the 750php terminal fee (around $15). We were discussing the travel tax that Filipinos have to pay.

I can confirm that my wife only had to pay the 200php exemption fee
